Easy Weekend Mods

I plasti dipped my grille and went mudding on Sunday. The mud washed right off the grille without a trace. Also, if you're worried about it staining, a clear coat will solve it. I had my cladding on my old truck plast dipped for months with no staining or peeling. This includes a NJ winter.

My grille is the only thing left on my truck that's still Plasti-dip and it shows. I need to get time to take it off and give it a proper coat of paint

newb question.. is this mod legal in states or countys that require emissions testing..

also.. can someone explain while all these mods are "musts"

I passed Cali smog with it no problem. They are "musts" because they just are! Start modding then you'll figure it out.

well i can understand why more power would be a must.. but plasti dipping.. why would that be a must.. what benefit does it have besides visual

Because,Toy manufacture doesn't design them to each of are disires of the way we want them to look. And if they did, it would give them a reason to charge us out the ying, yang for them.

Casper, thanks for the input about cali smoging with the removal.

To make it our own and add our personal touches.
ok.. thats fine.. so the plasti dipp doesnt serve any beneficial purpose other than cosmetic right.. so i wouldnt say its a must.. i can def see the performance mods beneficial.. and like the rear back up light upgrade.. etc

Oh, I forgot to mention...plasti dip adds 10hp per can...and greatly improves aerodynamics...If your worried about performance mods...then you shoulda gotten a V8! Just sayin...See, I like periods too...

Plasti-Dip is an "Easy Weekend Mod" as indicated by the title of the thread... no one said that it was "a must" mod! :biggrin2:

You don't have a cool truck until you get high plasti dipping your wheels in a closed garage... Just saying.

(Didn't actually get high but it's friggin nauseating)

im not really feelin the plasti dip on the emblems... i prefer chrome.. (the old school in me i guess) and on the whheels, i prefer the contrast of the black tire on alloy or chrome etc..but it does look good as well
