eBay uniball control arms?

I just resived my UCA looks like they went through another design change with press in bushings. My gut feeling says I need to press them out and use the all pro bushing kit and also the hardware they supplied will be trashed and upgraded with all pros hardware kit. Any one delt with the new style yet?? Also there is no zerk fitting so I will add them once I press out the bushing

for $50 more you can get SPC arms off amazon. I'd stick with a known supplier for $50 over an unknown.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DBTTS...colid=3YDX00KYASC8&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

If I were to go with a known supplier I would go with JBA. I don't have any good techs around me who could do alignments and the SPC would confuse the daylights out of them. Also I was looking into the UCA's with the least amount of upkeep. I travel much of the time and my wife and I share one vehicle, our runner, which is our daily driver. She'd have to remind the techs to grease the JBA's every oil change. 1. I don't trust the techs will actually do it (They can't even do a proper oil change most of the time) 2. I don't think my wife will remember to tell them either. I might be out of town through oil changes and I would want to leave her with a vehicle that is stress free.

I emailed freedom off road about their UCA and he said “ these arms compensate for the ball joint angle, not the caster”. Because i was asking if the UCA will give me more caster after the lift. Im confused, so no then? i guess i’ll save more for jba UCAs.

So after a ton of back and forth IMing with ajonesnv and truckhigh, THANKS guys, I think I found an acceptable solution to the short and larger ID sleeves that come on the 4th Gen arms. Though dkyleb was able to get new sleeves from the eBay seller which is great, I was not able to get a response from them, but I bought mine over 6 months ago so I am OK with that. The bushings that come with these arms are good so there is no reason to replace the bushings if they are still in good condition, however I have sanded mine down so I wanted to start fresh with new proper fitting sleeves and bushings when I install my lift spindles. I contacted several manufacturers and found that Dirt King Fabrications has the best all-around Upper Arm Bushing Rebuild Kit around. Keep in mind these are eBay arms so budget is a must for me, but I don't really want to sacrifice on quality. The Dirt King Kit comes with 8 - 60684 polyurethane bushings and 4 - OD 25.4mm X ID 14mm (same as the long bolts not the 16mm ones from eBay which have caused me some shifting) X 56.007mm long plus lube for $56 plus tax and shipping. So all said and done $67.28, and if you don’t need to replace your bushings now you will have a set ready to be installed when you do. We will see how all this works out once I receive and install these along with my spindles. Again, thanks to everybody for all the very useful information!

I am curious to know if the DK bushing kit works on the 3rd gen arms? I ordered a set to find out myself, but I just want to know in advance if anyone has the knowledge off the top of their head! Anyone?

Just wondering, what kind of grease are you guys using for the zirks? I've been using tri-flo on the ball itself and that's been good, but yeah, I think I need to grease these things up since I haven't done so since I bought the truck almost a year ago. To be fair, they were oozing grease for about 5 months, so I think the PO was good about keeping them well greased.

I use Red Tacky grease from Lucas Oil. any NGLI-2 or #2 grease works well, I am pretty sure they advise against Teflon based grease.

Thanks! It looked like the red stuff oozing out of there from before so I'm guessing that's what he used too. Any recommendations on how much to pump in there?

I would loosen the Thru-Bolt on the control arm to where you can spin the nut by hand. Slowly pump grease into the zerks until it starts to feel tight and you notice a small gap forming in the bushings between the bushing and the cup of the control arm. Once it feels tight pumping grease, STOP. Start to tighten down the thru bolt and you'll notice a bit of grease start to come out of the bushing start torqueing the bolt and cleaning some of that excess grease up and you're done! You don't want to pump any grease in when the UCA is torqued because you will deform the bushing and likely end up ripping it apart.

Almost 4 years and over 35k miles the the Silver Ebay control arms. Still in great shape with original bushings and bearing.

Update 3rd and 4th Gen Relevant

For anyone who's seen my last few comments on here, I was really curious as to whether the bushing/sleeve rebuild kits for the eBay sourced arms were cross compatible between the two generations. The conclusion is that the 3rd Gen and 4th Gen sleeves and bushings are the same. I purchased a set of bushings and sleeves from both All-pro off-road and dirt King. Not very surprised, but they are the same! The bushing codes match and the sleeve length/inner diameter and outer diameter are all the same!

Thanks so much! I’ll give it a shot this week when the weather warms up.

Just had some trd offroad shocks off a 2019 tacoma, 2inch spacer, and the eBay upper control arms from spindle source installed. Previously had a daystar 2.5 spacer and with this new setup raised it another 2 1/4 inches putting me at right under 39inches ground to fender. So id say about 4inch lift from stock. My question for anyone running these eBay arms or any others, did you still have trouble getting caster to anything 3degrees and above? Went to get an alignment done and the tech was only able to get slightly above 2degrees on both sides, keeping toe and camber in spec. Said adjustment bolts were maxed out at these settings. Tech seemed pretty competent, didn't rush with the alignment either, and even showed me that he couldn't adjust the caster anymore without screwing up toe and camber. Alignment feels pretty good, but ideally I would like to get the caster to spec. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue with low caster and aftermarket uca.

As for the upper control arms, cant really give any kind of review yet as Ive barely put any miles on the car with them on, but install was pretty straight foward. No issues getting them on, except for the washers that came with them. Theres not enough room to get all 8 washers on, so went to home depot and bought some thinner washers to go on the inside bushings. But yeah they feel pretty solid, should last, hopefully. :thumb3:

Hoping for some help here. Found this while searching but I have these same style eBay Uni-Ball control arms on a tundra.

Everything seemed ok for first 1500 miles but now I am getting all kinds of popping from front end. Mostly at lower speeds going down street/ parking lots, etc, but really loud and noticeable

Been searching through this thread and looking for some guidance

Should I be looking at new uniballs- or just a new misalignment kit?

Or is it possible coming from long bolt/bushings/ sleeve that mount the uca?

Check your torque on the long bolt and the uniball.
