Entune = Facebook Places & Yelp

Hi All,

So I'm probing around and found that Facebook Places and Yelp is actually bundled within Entune iOS App!

With that, can anyone verify if they have Facebook Place and Yelp on their Entune, maybe on a 2014 4R Limited or Android? If not, then we all need to push, call, email, request, demand, bother, sweet talk, poll, etc the Entune folks to include these great apps on the next update!!!

These app are bundled with Entune RIGHT NOW!

I used yelp yesterday on my entune. I don't use facebook though so can't vouch for that one... but the button is there.

Just found out: Facebook Places and Yelp are available on select 2014 model year vehicles.

If it's on "select" vehicles, I'm pretty sure I can figure out a way to get it on 2013s. :biggrin2:

I would highly doubt Toyota would update the hardware just to accommodate two additional apps. Thus, I'm pretty sure that it's a setting and it's just a matter of finding "it"! Will continue to hunt around and see if we can get this working.

I have both those apps, my understanding was that they come with all trucks that have the nav. I'm on iOS but the phone is pretty much only used for setting the accounts up and for transmitting the data traffic.

Entune feels dated already though, and I hope there will be an option for us '14s to update to Google's system when Toyota moves to it.

I have a 13 with Nav, but FB nor Yelp appears for me and on Toyota site it states, "Select" 14s have those apps.

I just copied and changed some plist, etc and about to give it a try... either it will work, or it won't. :ranger:

The '14s have an all new head unit. Hardware and software is completely different. I don't expect the new apps will be backwards compatible.

Also, Toyota uses RIM's QNX operating system. They won't be moving to Google. They will probably integrate CarPlay and/or some Google/Android interface down the road, though. Think of QNX as the bones and Tiyita has skinned it their own way. The IOS or Amdroid interfaces would basically be apps.
