There are still a couple of issues I am ironing out and hope to have more details by the weekend. For one, the pinout for the hazard switch on the toyota wiring diagram is 100% incorrect. I had to have someone send me pics of the wiring from their 2020+ connector. I am waiting on my de-pinning tool so I can try and re-pin the connector to the switch. Also, there are issues if you plan to use Android Auto using the stock wiring harness and the USB port. Not sure where the issue is but I have to direct connect to the head unit with the adapter cable only. If I connect the unit back into the harness with the second USB adapter and try to use the stock USB port AA will not load and the head unit is unhappy. I think the 2020+ USB port and harness had some upgrades done to support AA which the older models do not have. Once again I will be able to post my workaround as soon as all my bits come in.
Have you tried a wireless adapter for the android auto? Is it the same issue for apple car play? Keep updating this on the hazard harness, I'm on the fence still this or aftermarket.

Yes, it is tucked into the cubby. Same issues though trying to find a stable usb cable setup.

Sorry for the late response. I obviously haven't logged into this site in a long time, lol.
Hazard lights switch:
The 2020 head unit that I purchased came with all the vents and trim as well as the hazard lights switch. As you mentioned, the old hazard switch did not fit into the slot on the head unit trim. So I used the new hazard switch which did plug into harness from the vehicle. There is one problem though, the switch works and will turn on the hazard lights, however, it will disengage the hazard lights as soon as you depress it. I discovered this about two months after I installed everything, so my apologies for not mentioning this.
My solution will be to trim a bit of the plastic on the head unit and make my old hazard switch fit inside it. But it's not something I'm worried about at the moment. If the autoharnesshouse guys create a workable solution for this please let everyone know here.

Ah my switch does the same exact thing so I suspect it is a difference in activation between the two versions! Thank you!

Also talking with Brian at AH to see if there is a way a relay can be wired in to allow use of the new switch since these new switches are basically momentary switches.

You can set the color scheme in the settings. The instrument panels and interior lights in my 2012 are an orange-red color, so I found it best matches when I set the color scheme on the head unit to the red one.
I only use Android Auto which only works plugged in via usb 3, which aside from how much uglier it is than carplay, it works great.
I've been meaning to get the Motorola MA1 for wireless connectivity because I've heard great things. Unfortunately, they have been sold out everywhere.

Does your android auto work through the stock USB port? Few of us have noticed that you cannot get a proper connection when using the stock port.

It did at first but then I started having problems with it connecting. To note, the stock usb port in my 2012 is in the glovebox. In the center dash under the head unit where 2014+ models have the USB, my vehicle only has an Aux port. I purchased a third party usb-3.1 adapter and got a really good usb-3 specific cable and it works everytime.

I installed this in place of my cigarette lighter. Don't smoke so not a big deal for me.

how has the oem radio been ? Any luck with the hazard switch? I'm going to try the trail grid pro sony 8100 and decide after that.
Did just see the T10 V3 video and it looks nice

I'll jump in for a response. I finally got my 2020 head unit "permanently" installed yesterday (only test fits up till then because I was hoping to find a spare set of vents to avoid swapping mine out but no luck). So far everything in the radio seems to be working as intended. I think there is an eco indicator that might not be supported but nothing that I would miss from my 2018 head unit. Apple CarPlay works fine when plugged in to the harness (I have not splurged on the wireless unit). I believe AutoHarnessHouse is working on a solution to maintain the factory USB outlet but I have mine routed to the glove box for now.
I was actually able to use my original hazard switch. The opening in the 2020 bezel is a bit oversized but I was able to wrap some electrical tape and foam spacers to wedge it in place. Seems to hold just fine and looks normal from the front (also completely reversible).
I appreciate OEM styling and functionality. I also like physical buttons (always skeptical of full touch screen operation). This unit fit my build but it all comes down to what you are looking for.

Radio has been great with AAWireless. Zero complaints with it. Still sorting out hazard issue but for now taking a break from removing the radio constantly. Issue basically is that the new 2020+ switch is in fact momentary and the earlier switch is latching so you need to get something like a latching relay or a momentary to latching converter. Also need to de-pin and re-pin that hazard connector.

thanks for the update, are your hazard lights working properly, did you repin the connection? I havent been able to find an OEM unit at a good price plus another $200 for wiring harness. I'm hoping the sony 8100 will hold me over for awhile and I like it. Worst case on the sony is Ill at least breakeven on it. I do prefer the OEM look too, maybe find someone who wants the 8100 bundle and swap it.

My hazards work just the way they always have because I did not change anything about them (no repin, no change in switch, no splicing). I quite literally pulled the hazard and wiring from my original radio, stuck on some foam tape, and put it into the new head unit. It doesn't "snap" into place because the 2020+ bezel is a larger opening, but the foam tape is enough to keep it wedged in place and functional.
Installed the sony 8100 last night, took about 30-40 minutes very simple swap out. I do need to pick up a few parts for since it was originally for a 13 model. Antenna adapter and back up camera harness both ordered.
Pros: sony os is very simple and easy to use, Apple car play is much needed. Screen size is good and overall fit is nice. May try to use the OEM brackets to lower the head unit some. The vents aren't really blocked but could be lowered. Sound quality is improved for sure, will play with the different settings. Sony app allows you to mirror your phone to watch videos, will be good for road trips.
Cons: wife prefers stock look , Screen resolution, dash kit isnt 100% match , not wireless carplay but not a deal breaker
would like to trade for a 2020 plus head unit. Overall thoughts I do like it but wife likes the stock look.
