Can't say the same for the women in the USA's nation's capital. Cold and ruthless are two adjectives that come to mind for the majority. They are always sucking on the power tit, to quote the beautiful Rachel McAdams, who is Canadian herself.

I almost thought Julie was nailing those ceiling boards by hand, until I saw the brad nailer.

I think of all the women I have ever known, dated, married, and more including present company, zero would know how to use a miter saw, less know what one was. My great grandmother could change brakes on her Model T. Guess I go after the wrong type of women then. :toilet3:

One other way of seeing it, with your wife being so helpful around the house and caring about things that makes you happy like washing Mean Green and stuff, its is a statement, without words written, that you are a great husband and a wonderful father.

Fightman, looks like a cool adventure bro. A friend just moved back here to the coast from Wawa. She loved the small town living but couldn't get used to the cold and 10 months of snow lol. I guess we're spoiled here in BC
It takes guts to make that big of a change in ur lifestyle. Kudos to you and yours!

Thanks man! It's been quite an adjustment... but we like it here. We're slowly making this place our own.

The past couple of weeks have been pretty busy... managed to snap a couple of pics though....

First.... a Pic of one of our guys holding what looked like a Red bellied Garder Snake... I've never seen one of these before.... anyone know the proper name for these??

Also.... one of my crew has this Ford.... not sure if having those bears on the front is creepy.... or funny??!! lol!

And last but not least.... the infamous... FireRiver Telephone.... it's literally a phone in a box... on a post, in the middle of nowhere. It works... I call my wife from it all the time...

Well, it's been a few weeks since my last post. Been really busy with working on the house, and work in general.

For the last 2 weeks, I've been protecting the Sperry Truck. This truck travels the rails, and tests the rail's integrity by sending an Ultrasonic wave into it. The waves detect any flaw with the rail, which can not be seen by the naked eye, and helps to avoid a catastrophic break, and prevent derailments. It meant long hours, but I'm paid handsomely...

My kids keep giving me little gifts that they make, for me to put up in my room in Oba.... little reminders of why I do the job I do..

The knife....Not really sure.... we just leave it there... in case we need to kill a polar bear or something...

It's an old house.. the guy who owned it, started to renovate it, and never finished. The side of the house you see, has older windows. Once we get new windows for it, we'll be replacing those cedar shingles with siding that matches the rest of the house. I've got a bunch in my garage. As for the stone work.... it's original to the house, and the buy never removed it, when he decided to add brick.

There's alot of stuff on this house, which we have found that kinda makes us scratch our heads. That being said, we love the stone work, large windows, hardwood floor and stone fireplace in the living room.

The house has 5 bedrooms, a nice sized eat-in kitchen, and a ton of potential.... it's a work in progress... but when we're done... it will be our dream house.

Well.... it's been a few weeks.... 1st week.... we got snow.... yes... this was September! lol! The snow melted the same day... but scary none the less!

Then.... we rebuilt a road crossing.... looks pretty good IMO!

Then... we had a rain day.... bored... decided to make a tiny sledgehammer!! lol!

And... a parting pic.... took this 2 mornings ago... on my way to meet some contractors to do more rail testing.... had to stop and take a pic!

It's been a busy few weeks.... and coming up to a full year we've been living up here! Hope all of you are doing well!

We've had a few things happen, and many changes since my last post. Adventures continued.... but for the most part... life kinda took off.

We did alot of work on our house... I worked for the railway for almost 3 years, before finally leaving and returning to my old line of work. Now I'm home more, spend more time with my family... and have more personal time.

On my last day working for CN, I made my last trip in to pick up my personal belongings.... Here's a video I made of the trip... note: It will most likely not work for you if you're watching from a smartphone... copyright issues I believe.

It's a beautiful ride... but can be rather hazardous, due to the Logging trucks. I plan on updating this thread again... as I'll have more time to do so again. Thanks for following along!
