Hey Okki,
Carmel IN huh? I grew up in Zionsville back in the 80's and went to purdue then bolted for CO 1 week after graduating and have been out here ever since I've made that trip from Denver to Indy several times for Xmas and it's a pretty boring drive especially driving solo.

Not sure I'm going to Ouray yet, but I've been there before to 4x4 and camp and it's an awesome place. Have a great time

I noticed on the FI site that they plan on having registration set up around the 1st week or so in March. I am really pumped about this trip. Can't wait!!!

I tentatively have the whole month of July off for vacation again this year and would like to go and had planned on it.

But.........with American Airlines filing bankruptcy ,nobody knows for sure what will shake down.Being here over 20 years and more then 3/4 of the way up the seniority list I'll probably have a job. Where is the big question as big layoffs are expected and bumping as we are grounding a bunch of planes/cutting schedules. I may need my VC and money to move to LA,Mia or NY to go back and work the line.Maybe,No more cushy Rolls Royce jet engine shop

Just a heads up....Somebody needs to talk to some of the FJ organizers to see what their reaction is to a whole bunch of 4Runners coming. Pretty sure the number of tickets they sell for the Summit are limited .Also,there were a couple of FJer's made some derogatory comments last year about 4Runners being there, if you read over on the FJ forum after last years summit.Even though one of the trail leaders was in a 4Runner.

It would be nice if we had our own 4Runner Summit some day the week before or after the FJ one.Who's a good organizer on here??

Ugg. Good luck there. Its a damn crime what happened to such a great airline. We are watching the situation closely since there is talk of a US / AA 'merger' which may very well mean US leaving the Star Alliance which would really suck for me.

I would but its a bit outside my neck of the woods. Another issue, I think, would be that I bet a bigger percentage of FJ owners ride the trails compared to 4Runner owners - so ours would need to cater to the road rats who don't want new pinstripes.

I suppose if the Summit organizers didn't want us or our money, they could simply restrict their event to FJ only. This would be my first time so not sure what the vibe was like there last year, but I don't want to go where I'm not welcome. Anyone know any of the Summit organizers and what their position is on 4Runner attendance. I mean it's simple, either they basically welcome all types of Toyota 4wd, or they want it to be exclusively for FJs...

why not just make it a toyota summit? or just fj 4runner and tacoma it would be a hole lot more fun!!!!!

The FJ vs 4Runner debate was up on the FJ forum early this year, but it was firmly squelched by the moderators and organizers of the Summit. I'm not to concerned about the whole deal; especially since it looks like us 4Runners will be located in the same area... we can call it the 4Runner Village :cowboy:

I've emailed Jared at FJ Summit but with it still being pretty early in their organization stages, he's not been too responsive. I think keeping the list running here will help with their info on the number of 4Runners coming as well since several of the organizers hang out here as well as Harper7 already indicated.

The 4Runner and FJ are built from the same platform; this is not about stealing their event or changing it... this is about sibling vehicles playing in the dirt together!
