FJ with 315's

Hello guys. I just want some info or feedback.
Unfortunately I do not have any pictures because I was driving.

I was going to work yesterday and I saw and FJ Cruiser with 315's tires on.
I don't remember the rest of the wheels' specs but those tires were wide and made the truck look really good.

He might have had lift spacers but the truck wasn't that high from the ground.

Anyways that's all. :) Anyone run some 315's with the 4Runner ?
That was my initial idea to put on but I don't have the means nor the cash atm to make it happen.

I am guessing I would have to cut some parts out of the original front bumper and get a higher lift to make the wheels fit in there without rubbing.

And get some wheels with a better off-set than what I am running now.

For my 285/70r17 I did the simple mod I saw on a build thread, I don't remember who posted it but it worked. Had some trouble with the driver side but got it done and I took out the mud flaps so now I have zero rubbing.

Maybe when my wife changes her car and kids get older she will let me do what I want with the truck but for now I have to think family first :baby:

I think there are some people running 315s but the real question is how you use your truck. If you take it off road you'll probably have to do a lot of hammering and cutting in the wheel wells in addition to lowering your bump stops so you don't rip off the fenders at full compression. I seriously looked at going up to 315s after I put on my front bumper but decided I'd need to do more rear wheel well modifications (ie. cutting) than I'm willing to right now.

Thank you for the reply. I was just wondering since FJ's are smaller than 4Runner's how did that guy put 315's on his truck....

It's just curiosity but from what I saw the owner didn't seem to be Off-Roading, it was an F license plate, that's a commercial plate. And from what I saw all was original on the truck no mods whatsoever only those biga$$ tires.

The fender wells are different on the FJ's, they're a lot bigger. I know guys that just have 3in lifts and can fit a 35.

There's a member on here who's stationed out in Germany with a black 5th gen running 35's. I don't know his name on here but it looks nice.
