For those of you with Cobra 18 WX ST II

I just picked up one of these CBs. I plan to mount it directly under my head unit. I would like if you guys could give my some ideas on how you mounted your antenna, and ran your coax? Pictures would be nice too. Thanks.

nice purchase

for my antenna and coax i bought a firestick 5 foot antenna off ebay($25) and a20 ft coax cable from radioshack.

on the pasenger side i pulled off the side portion of the bumper(4 bolts, you need to remove the black plastic on top of the middle section). their is ablack bracket that holds the bumper on-i took a piece of band steel and bent it to the curve of that bracket so that itextended out of the bumper through the gap betwen the body and bumper. i then used two bolts to hold them together. i mounted the ant. on that.
the coax i took to the back near the liftgate and i driles a hole. i then ran the cable along the flor up to the front.

i dont have that cb but my antenna is a 3ft wilson flex big spring is not needed coax is
18ft of firestik fireflex ran through a firewall groment stainless short fender bracket

I have mine mounted on the outside of the driver taillight. not the best spot for reception though. I would recommend mounting like Elton H or sn0wrunner.

I dont have any pics of how i ran the coax I could take some if you'd like, but it went up through the fender, and between the weather stripping in the door. Here are the only pics i have now. Oh and if you havent already got a 90 degree coax elbow you'll need that to install it in your head unit. you can pick one up at radio shack for a couple bucks. also in these pics i dont have a lock washer between the antenna and the bumper, you'll want to put one of those in there so it stays tight.
