As some of you know, I (flat irons fabrication) have taken over production of the drifter mounts from mstudt. We have 5th gen and fj mounts mocked up already (still tweaking 4th gens), but I want to have a better prototype made before I post the official pictures of the mounts.
This group buy will be to fund our first production run, so we need 8-10 of each generation confirmed and paid before we can make it possible! We will drop the price of each mount to $45 shipped, or $80 if you order two mounts (cb, ham, and or reverse light mount)
We are aiming to have these mounts finished and in Stock by the first week of January. This your chance to get one or more of these mounts at a greatly reduced price since you are helping fund the production run. I already have members interested, but need full commitment by the 30th. Same here. Interesting to see it it will work with 03'-05' and 06'-09' bumper styles.

We got the 5th gen mount all mocked up tonight, I think they look awesome. The 4th gens were giving us a bit more probelms, since they don't have a good way to mount. Our solution was to use the top mount of the hatch strut, this will also allow the use of a 2 or 3 foot antenna

I know the hatch mount isn't ideal, but we couldn't find a better way without drilling (uses the top mounts of the strut for support)
The 5th is very similar to the 3rd, mounting to the body and wrapping around the taillight. These are still just the mock ups, but the mounts will be 10 Guage steel

I have an idea, bear with me on trying to describe it. So the mount currently is a square with a top piece added for the antenna to mount onto. if we cut the rear side down and repositioned the top it would allow for the antenna to mount vertically while the mount is angled. My only concern (simple fix) would be how much room is inside the box for the cable to attach on the bottom.
Let me know if that makes sense

Yea...I was picturing something like that.

So, the mount would be angled, but the top would be parallel to the ground/top of the truck, right?

Yes. its hard not being at the shop or having a 4th gen handy, but I feel like it would be pretty easy. I'm working on it
