I get some slight rubbing on full lock in reverse only, any suggestions? Everything else is peachy tho no rubbing at all just in reverse full lock.

What is it rubbing on?

I dont have mudflaps but right there on the inner fender next to where the mudflaps would be. I will take more pics if needed. Thanks

Trim or heat the plastic and push it out of the way. Could also get an alignment with a little caster to move the wheels forward.

Looking for insight on a specific set up. I have done the 5100 1.75/1 lift. I have TRD pro rims in the boxes (17x7) and have been contemplating the bump to 275/70 or 285/70. At this point if I go bigger on tires I think I'd look more to the 285s as they seem cheaper than their 275 equivalents (not to mention C load range availability).

Based on the search bar most have gone with bigger lifts or wider rims (which I get for airing down).

Can anyone with this or similar set up validate that a fenderliner push and mud flaps off should minimize the rubbing? Current caster is set to 2° if that helps.

Ok guys got a 2 front and 1" rear leveling kit on really wanting to go 255/80/17 on some fuel trophy wheels. Or should I go with 275/70/17?

The Limited wheels are kinda odd in that they measure close to 7.5" wide (inside bead seat to bead seat) but are stamped as a 7.0 width wheel. Not sure what's up with that. Also they do sit a bit further out than the Trail wheels.

I have a 2015 TR4, Limited and looking to replace tires. I prefer all season tires and don't do a whole lot of off road. I am in Colorado area, so we see some deep snow on occasion.

Hi all,

I have a 2016 Limited and would love to switch to 17” TRD Pro wheels. As of right now, I currently have stock suspension with Gobi stealth rack. The only concern I have is the clearance between the roof rack and the garage door. The gap is about 2.5 inches. If I swap with TRD Pro along with 275/70/17 tires, will this affect the overall height? I checked the tire size calculator and it looks like I will be fine. Can anyone confirm?

rims are 17x8.5 -6 offset 4.5" backspacing

I'd go with the wider tire (275). 255 on an 8.5" rim is pretty skinny. My 255's look "normal" on a 7" rim.

Offset will help you. You may be cutting it close if you have aggressive sidewalls.

- Ended up getting Goodyear Duratrac's, 255/75/17 and put them on a TRD pro rim (7")
- Rim widened stance a good 2" total
- Tire clears suspension parts no problem
- Major rubbing at front and back of fender. Had to remove mud flaps and cut out some of my fender liner
- Still get rubbing on frame behind strut tower on R side when wheel turned all the way to the right
- Spare fits in holder. Barely
- Will probably have to get a leveling kit, feels like the clearances are too tight

Nice, looks good. Something just to keep in your mind and something you could probably report back on:
Duratrac 255/75s are P-rated. Great for the street, you'll still get good traction off road, but for a tire that's already perceived to have a weak-ish sidewall, a P-rated tire won't help. The BFGs would have been C-rated, so they would have been heavier, not rode as well, etc, but supposedly would have a tougher sidewall.

Will 16" TRD FJ Wheels fit over the 2017 4Runner calipers? I like the taller sidewall for off road reasons. Seems there are more tire options in a 16" wheel as well...

Nope. If they did it would be in the chart.

As engineer said, they will not. Lift it more, you'll have room for bigger tires with more sidewall!
