Good gas mileage

25MPG? What? How is that possible, uphill none the less? What was your average speed? How is your 4R setup?

I had the same thing happened to me this weekend. I filled up in Galveston, Texas on the way to San Luis Pass (50mph speed limit) and averaged 27MPG (brother in law was amazed as his LR3 gets 15MPG downhill in a hurricane). From San Luis Pass back to Houston, ended up with 24.3MPG (70MPH on the freeway). I have a 2011 SR5 2WD with 9500 miles on it.
impressive. i got 23.1 mpg in my 2011 4wd SR5 after a fresh oil change running 70 mph up and down steady hills on the interstate.
that was with regular 10% ethanol bs gas.
i've heard none-ethanol fuel givse 7% better mileage? if you take that into account it would have been 24.7mpg in a 4wd. coulda, woulda, shoulda. i may have to fill up with no ethanol one day and test it out.

Florida has made it illegal to use ethanol free gas in a road going car.
and the only places to get the gas is at a marina, and they charge an arm and a leg for it.

We are probably getting better milage up North here in Canada because most of our gas doesn't have ethanol. Except for Husky/Mowhawk stations which do have ethanol.
Round trip to Radium Hot springs and Back to Calgary with 15 km of rough 4X4 roads: 24.7 MPG calcultated by filling up tank - also matches what my gauge said. The worst mileage I've got on the highway is about 20 MPG with winds. My ride isn't even broken in yet - I've got just over 4000 KM (about 2.200 miles)
My first highway trip we got 22 MPG with a thule on the roof.
Basically I realize if you drive a reasonable speed, this rig can actually get respectable gas milage! I am really impressed!
I recently lifted the truck by installing the full 2.5 RADFLO kit from overland warehouse. I was amazed on my first trip to the mountains and back, to get 23.4 MPG! I will add to this report after my weekend trip...
Keep in mind the trip I'm measuring the milage on is mainly slower 55-60 MPH roads, although there are several full on mountain passes on route.
Tires: stock sized Toyo Open Country AT

Even with my wheel alignment issue, my 4R alternates between 22 mpg and 18.something mpg. It seems pretty random, even when buying gas from the same place.
I know on mine the gas mileage does start to plummet when highway speeds exceed 75 mph or so.

It won't improve mileage, it just changes the timeframe over which data is measured.
If you have the nav unit, under options there is the mileage graph that allows you to do a full reset.
You can do a partial reset, probably good enough for what you want, either by holding down the "set" button on the center display, or pressing the button that zeros the trip odometer when your odometer is showing average mpg.
