Is yours cut at or above that lowest body line?
It is a literal hair above the body line.
Thanks. I'm thinking about doing it there. I like it cut higher from a front view but definitely not the side. I have not seen one in person yet, which is my only hesitation.
Still liking the look after a little while?
I didn't install the SSO mod but I did cut something similar. I really like it, I don't feel like I'm missing much by not having the SSO mod.

Wondering where you found that weatherstrip?
I looked at Home Depot and Walmart and only found weird foamy tubular type stuff.
Oh yes. Love the way it looks, and I've already utilized the additional clearance it has given me on a trail that used to catch the front edge. :guitar3:
Any auto parts should sell it. It's just door edge guard.

So thinking of doing this mod. So are you guy leaving the most inside bumper bolt in place and just cutting forward and then up and across? Hope I'm asking that right. Lol

I think this looks really great.
But I wonder -- is it kind-of dangerous to have the front tires so exposed? I mean for highway driving. Which, obviously none of us probably want to do in our T4Rs but most of us have to.

I have had mine on for several months, drove to Moab and back. Never had an issue with the front tires being exposed.

Anyone have any pics looking in at the inner wheel well? Or from underneath?
I am tempted to do this DIY mod, but i am worried about it leaving some odd looking open slit between the bumper and inner wheel well lining.
I never see any good side shots or shots looking forward from the side of this mod.

That's a good data point, thank you.
The Colorado ZR2 is designed like this from the factory for the very same advantages, better approach angle. Sure, it visually exposes vital steering linkages and the control arms and probably adds to drag, but the odds of it directly creating a more serious impact in that area would be slim. Odds are whatever causes damage to that area likely would have had the same outcome with a standard bumper in place.
