Your "advice" is more like naysaying. Thank you for reminding us that 4Runners are slow. No, I don't plan to drag race mine like Matt is... but who is to say he can't?

As for the Tundra and Ram... yeah, they were faster. They were both my friends, and we were in high school... I doubt they were sandbagging.

lol, I'm curious, why drag race a 4Runner? Unless it's supercharged they are slow as hell...

They arnt that slow, i've done my 0 to 60 in about 6 and half to 7 seconds. No lie. Of course thats not that quick, But i beat a few of my friends in races on the highway Then talk smack of course :bigok:

Scott, you know i appreciate your advice. Most of what i did is kinda your fault. and im actually looking at buying either a 94 RX7 or a 95 300zx. But first i want to make everyone put their foot in their mouth by making a fast 4runner. I'll pm you and tell you what i've done so you can put your mind at ease. and try to think positive and be more optimistic...think happy thoughts

First of all, I wasn't saying that his 4Runner cannot be fast or that he shouldn't drag race his 4Runner. It's stupid IMO but it's not my truck so I don't really care. I am pointing out that I know for a fact that his 4Runner is not faster than a 05 v8, and that his 4Runner is not fast. Also, he has been called out on the weight of the truck. Removing everything under the sun (seriously dude.... door panels?) and it still weighs more than Toyota things it should??? He has probably just never driven a fast car. I thought my civic was kind of fast until I drove my buddies 240sx with a built sr20 or my other buddies acura integra with a built b18c5. Good luck with your build man.

how are you guys doing a 7 second 0-60 time when the pros are only getting a 9.6 second 0-60? you guys need to become professional drag racers!

BTW i am turning some 285/75/16 meats. 4WD. one is obviously with a little wheel spin, the other i tried to make it hook. im not even gonna guess 0-60 time, because during heavy acceleration the speedometer is absolutely useless.

I hope it weighed that much before you took all the crap out of it. I thought that when you bought your 4Runner the motor was crap and your replacement was going to be that 4.0 swap (supercharged or turbo'd whichever you decided on) Are you drag racing it until it croaks, then swapping engines?

MMM your truck sounds sick. Hearing all that wheelspin in the second video made me pitch a tent haha. Does brake torquing get you any quicker results? Those 285's must be power hogs. My friend's brother has a 2000 Limited with a supercharger but with the same size tires as mine on stocks, and I stay even with him (in a "drag" race) up till about 50 MPH, then he pulls away

Not to mention those same professionals got a 9.6 second 0-60 time when these trucks were brand new. But everyone knows you gain 5hp every year.....

I was under the impression that the 5vz-fe was so durable because it was intended for much higher hp applications than Toyota provided for in stock trim.

I had read this in a forum once and it was confirmed by others.
