Hard mount jumper cable

I'm looking at making up a set of jumper cables. I'll order alligator clips of suitable size for the dead vehicle and am looking to hard mount this: Orion Motor Tech 175A Battery Quick Connect/Disconnect Wire Harness Plug Connector Winch Trailer 0.35'' Inner Diameter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015CKKU6G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_ScvRwbZ2EHP79

To mine. I'll use 6' or so of welding wire to make the connection.

Question is where to connection on mine. Battery, starter? Or? It would be great if it could be double duty to send or receive power for a jump.

I thought about doing just that but then I rarely use cables. To answer your question, though, go straight to the battery.

How often do you jump start people that this would be worth it? I would just get one of the small lithium ion jump packs.

The small litium battery packs work awesome. They don't cost very much. They can also be used to power gadgets. Your vehicle does not need to be in position to jump start. The battery pack allows you to jump yourself. If the other vehicle has a dead short battery it could ruin your vehicle. The small battery pack becomes sacrificial. I call it acceptable damage.

I have two. One of them is rated to jumpstart a Diesel engine. Which it can do.

Both of mine are from Fuseled. I have used the diesel version a few times on diesel and gas engines. I just received the smaller gas rated version. Have not used it yet.

Check Powerwerx here. You can get a pull handle for the end you will be putting on the actual cables. I have all the stuff to do a similar setup.
