The answer in at the bottom of post 3 in this thread.

And just on the off chance that engrish isn't your first language, you're looking for the word "brake", "break" is something no one wants to do to their truck.

Help!

Ive attempted to do this swap. One problem. I installed these w13 calipers on my 2001 4-runner and the bleeder valves ended up being on the bottom... What did I do?

Mr BigFishAllDay. Tried this swap last night and used the exact parts you used. Some how the bleeder valves ended up being on the bottom of both calipers. What did I do wrong? Are they upside down? Couldn't be. Any advise would be great. Thank you from VA

You've got the calipers swapped (L on R, R on L).

sounds like you put them on the wrong sides and upside down? Sounds like a user error [emoji23]

Yup, you’ve got them on the wrong sides. I’m surprised the metal brake lines were long enough without unbending them.

I had a seized caliper on a Sequoia once - ironically the same caliper we’re discussing in this thread - when on a road trip and the parts store only had the opposite side caliper. I was able to attach the hard line to the unmounted caliper, bleed it upside down so the air bubbles went to the top, and put the caliper on upside down. Was like that for a few years before I had to redo the brakes to replace the pads again. Finally put the right caliper on.

Thanks! All is well. User ERROR, yes. I did have to bend the brake lines just a bit. Will replace them with in the next couple weeks. But wow, what a difference! Love this swap. Thank you y'all!

I finally did the TBU. I made a video about the kit I used. I picked a Callahan kit and after having it on for several weeks now I can say its solid.

Want to do the upgrade. From what I read, this stock rim should fit without any grinding off. Just trying to confirm before I pull the trigger.

Read the thread, you dont even have to leave this page to get your answer. :keyboard:

did the TBU a couple weekends ago along with a ton of other work, huge difference in braking power and now i think i need to tighten up the rears as it seems to nosedive in heavy braking.
Highly recommended, in hidnsight this should've been my first to-do.

dude! I didn't even see that top post. After I read a dozen pages and check other threads. I just snap a pic and asked to double & triple check. Kinda why I lean toward this model when i purchased my first Runner. Thanks again!

So I went ahead and purchased the Power Stop tow package. Looks fine to me. I went for a few days looking online to try and get something decent. Now just waiting to get the time next week to try and nock it out. The only imperfection was on one rotor. Don't really think it'll be a issue but just cosmetic.

Part number?

Do you happen to know all the part numbers for the Calipers, Rotors and Pads and whatever else I might need?

4runner z36 upgrade vs the tundra breake upgrade

Ok so i was ready to buy the parts to do the tundra break upgrade then i noticed that on rock auto under my 2002 4runner breaks they offer a z36 upgrade kit for the 4runner which has 319mm rotors and the tundra is a 231mm so my question is which is better both say they our best for towing which i will be doing is there difference? Is the tundra still the better option. I have 16” rims with no lift 2wd and dont want to modify too much any advise would be much appreciated
