Hard to find Specs, Info & Measurements on 231mm 13WL Tundra Calipers & Rotors

I'm wanting to do this upgrade soon, but I have a few questions. Will the 231 fit my stock 16's? I've tried looking for the same wheel but couldn't find anyone else running them. If they don't fit I have no problem getting some 17in wheels but don't know what size KO2's to get where I won't rub w/o getting a lift. Sorry for not starting a new thread but this is my first post and I wasn't allowed to yet.

the info you seek is in there. you just likely cant see the photos because of the photobucket fall out (i cant see them at work here). but the info you need is where i told you to look.

Obviously there are much cheaper routes I could have gone with but I get to enjoy having a solid OEM + high-performance brake pad combo. The fun of having an older car like a 3rd gen 4runner is you get to rebuild stuff too.

Hi Guys!

So I finally did the 2005 TBU. I went with the 231mm- 13WL
On stock 16" OEM 4-Runner 5-Spoke "Flower" Wheels, found on '01-02 models. I did zero modifications to the wheels or calipers to make it fit.
I've been driving for about an hour; the breaking feels stronger, controllable, bites immediately, and no more gliding to a stop.
There is a little more peddle travel that will take some getting used to.
I've owed the 4Runner over 10 years and should have definitely done this modification a lot earlier.

Parts Used
231mm-13WL Calipers From Auto Zone- C9951(Driver) C9950(Passenger) 89.99x2
OEM Rotors- 43512-0C011 2x$64.37
OEM Brake Pads- 04465-35290 $63.75

This helps immensely. I have the same rims on my T4R and was having a hard time confirming if the 231's would clear the rim, but you proved they do!

On a side note, how are the Autozone calipers holding up?

Yes, the Tacoma rims fit fine. I’ve run them on 2 rigs with the 231 tundra brakes. Have that exact setup sitting in the driveway now.


I think it would be easier to list the rims that don’t fit.
The only 16” rims I’ve seen not fit were the Stock 4runner split 6 rims.

I’ve run the remanufactured calipers from Oreilly’s on a few rigs with no issues. It’s just shy of $500 to walk into an auto parts store and buy the entire conversion.
But oh so worth every penny.

If you go the reman route open and look at them in the store. Sometimes they will have different bleeder bolts. You want both to have the same bleeder bolt otherwise it’s annoying.

yes, post 1142 instructs you to a very specific list. the wheels you seek are one there.

although i will say, its a lot of info to digest over 3 posts. i just know its on the bottom as ive read through the OP a bunch of times.

Does anyone on here have experience with these wheels and the tundra brake upgrade without spacers?
