Has anyone wired a trailer brake control?

I just got a Tekonsha Prodigy 2 brake control. The wiring color code chart does not match with the color code that comes with the plug Toyota provided. I can figure it ou probably...don't want to burn anything up though. Has anyone done this install yet? Could you verify the color match between wires? Also, there is a fifth wire on the Toyota plug...(green), does it get hooked to anything? Thanks for any info

There are videos for that brake controller and wiring on youtube and etrailer.com. Thats where I go my information when I wired a P-3 on my Explorer.
Great break controllers btw love mine!

It is practically plug and play, just find a suitable ground.

even I could do it....plug one end in provided harness....plug othe end in rear of brake controller...hook up ground under dash (there was and empty threaded hole directly above the gas pedal that accepts a 6mm screw..use that)

No, it is not plug and play. The controller comes without a plug on one end. It needs to be wired to fit each different application.

Sunpilot if you order the wiring harness I posted a link too, then it is plug and play.

If you look uderneath the dash...right above the emergency brake pedal...you'll see a white, square plug tucked up in there..that is for the brake controller.

Take the harness that you SHOULD ORDER FROM ETRAILER...then you can plug one end in the white plastic end, and the other end in the rear of the controller...the only thing left is to hook up the white ground wire.:thumb3:

I got my prodigy brake controller from the dealer and it already came prepackaged with the correct ends for plug and play. Worked out quite nicely. And it wasnt any cheaper or more expensive than buying one offline or through a shop.
