Headlight/Fuse Mystery please help

The truck sat for a little over a year before my son got it.
1 headlight is out and some interior lights didn't work. I figured it was just a matter of a fuse and a headlight.

As I am checking the fuses in the underhood fuse panel, I take out a fuse and the "dead" headlight lights up very dimly, and the good headlight goes dim. I put the fuse back and it goes back to the way it was before. ( both High Beams are fine )

the bad low beam obviously works because it lights up a little....but why would it only light up when I remove another fuse ?

I am totally confused on this......any suggestions would be appreciated

Could be bad or broken wiring or a bad ground somewhere. Both headlights are on the same fuse so that rules a fuse out. I hate wiring. Good luck.

If you pull a fuse and get a change in your headlights, you might need to look at what that fuse is for. There may be a problem in the wiring for that circuit. Maybe even a damp or corroded connector. But it seems something in that circuit is feeding the headlights.

You could try pulling most or all of the fuses but the headlight one. If the headlights work fine, re-insert fuses one by one until they dim again. You may find that more than one fuse has an effect.

Also, you might try disconnecting one headlight and see what happens, then try the other one.

Also, see what happens when you do other stuff. For example, does anything change when brakes are applied? Turn signals, flashers?

Not an expert by any means, just throwing out a few things I would do to try isolating the problem.
