Headlight upgrade. If I don't want HID or Silver Stars, what options do I have??

HIR's (halogen infrared), there's quite a bit of info here if you do a search. There's also a HIR II bulb that's suppose to be brighter than the standard HIR.

Tell me! It's probably more... When I had the Silver Stars I was going through one every 9-10 months. Called and complained and they sent me a free set or two.

i agree, have they all gone bad, or did u just not like them? have u touched them with ur fingers? if not, u may have a problem some where. either way, i'll second the HIR's (have the most lumens, no blue tint) if u dont want HID's, or phillips extreme or osram night breaker +90. unfortunatly, brighter bulbs dont always last a real long time.

NO touching allowed!!! I do know better. All had one burn out, never made a difference left or right...

u have 9005 & 9006 bulbs, u can buy an adapter to use a hi beam bulb in the lo beam socket. Bulbzilla Headlight and Foglight Brightness Conversion Kits - Truck Customizers

If you don't want to go to HID, HIR's will be your next best option.

well with that many bulbs u went, u might as well get a decent hid kit off ebay, only 40 bucks of less for the slim kit, just dont get any xentec brand, they are the worst crap kit i have ordered, flicker sometime, but i have got hid kits from seller autosky and the slim kits with the silver ballast seem solid.

With an HID kit is it all plug and play or is the cutting and splicing involved? (That was the reason I didn't want HID)

its all plug and play, u just need to switch the pigtails, since the reverse polarity.

Are you using the headlight goo too??? If you just plug and play it may short without the goo!!!

If you get hids, I suggest the kit from ddm tuning. Its less than $50 and comes with a lifetime warranty. It is all plug and play, I could go back to stock in five minutes or less and you'd never know the hids were ever there.
