If you have you lights anywhere on the front of your truck, I would suggest them. It only takes one little rock and the light will be trashed. You can only buy the lights in pairs, so I think it is worth it to try and protect the ones you have instead of having to replace them.

ok...you convinced me...damn the T4R is soakin up all my money! I called the dealer to get the Taco switch, housing and connectors...100 bucks...ugh

I've been running mine without the covers for a few months now. Knock on wood, but they are uncracked ATM.

While leaving the parking lot at Home Depot, I watched an SUV just miss bummpers with a truck while tring to park...Yes, in the city.

I checked those brackets out last year. I like how they attach, liked the cost and they look like a much simpler solution. Ultimately, I decided to do something like momo because I wanted a certain placement that I didn't think I could get with those brackets...

I like the mounts very much. In fact, I have been looking around for various solutions to mount additional lights in the front, instead of on the bumper and I think you have found it.
You said that you got the metal bracket parts at HomeDepot. i was wondering if you did and have measured the dimensions of the bracket needed as well as where the bolt holes need to be
drilled.
I am ready to do this project this weekend if I can get a few starter tips on materials & dimentions.

Ok... So thanx for the write up on this... great idea and placement of lights... I bought an 07 last saturday and put my lights on last night... the wiring is very simple... there are two wires coming off the back of the lights... the BLUE wire is GROUND.... I attached this to the bracket bolts and it is a great ground... the BLACK wire is the POWER for the lights... this runs to the relay supplied in the kit... the RED wire from the relay is CONSTANT and needs to go directly to the positive terminal of the battery... the BLUE wire from the relay is GROUND... I attached this to the drivers side of the engine bay with a Self tapping screw... the YELLOW wire goes to the SWITCH to turn provide switched power to the relay... The GREEN wire needs to go from the SWITCH to the POSITIVE side of the battery terminal just like the red wire... the small BLUE wire is the GROUND for the switch so the switch itself will illuminate... so two wires need to run into the car... Yellow and Green... the rest are all in the engine bay... let me know if you have any questions... the wire colors are not normal colors... good luck and thanx again for the write up....

I installed a set of Hella's just like momo but they vibrated too much and, when used at night, the flickering drove me crazy...i wedged a rubber block between light and bumper and that did stop the jiggling.
Un-installed them the next day...
