Help! Front swaybar tragedy!

At the auto hobby shop, installing 5100's rears are in. Tech says "drop the front sway bar". I have KDSS, undid the driver side.... BOOIIIING!!!..... the tech then says "hmmmm"....

So, How do I get it back on? Front left side. He's clueless and now so am I. Just wanna get it back on so I can have a shop do the install

Do a search for instructions on lifting with KDSS by eddiebx. It will explain exactly what you need to do an pics are included.

You need to support the piston. A jack works, but IMO a ratchet strap works better. There is a hole in the front cross member behind and a few places in front to hook to. Tighten it up so it won't droop and then you're good to go. Getting it back to place will require compressing the piston with a jack.

Yea, it is not a big deal. That is actually the easiest way to install the front lift. You just have to coerce the swaybar back into place with a jack and ratchet straps as mentioned above.

I would be willing to bet if you read eddiebx's write up on here, you will know far more about how to perform the front lift with KDSS than 99.9% of mechanics.

This. If I've learned anything, I've learned, to get something done right on a modified truck you must either take it to someone who specializes in that particular rig, or read and do it yourself carefully and with many beers standing by by way of liquid encouragement.
