Help me pick an exhaust!!

With all of the discussion on sound, did any of you notice any improvement on acceleration or all around driving? The principal of being able to easily move air in and exhaust out also works on the theory that a good exhaust will vacuum the cylinders out to allow them to pull in a clean charge of fuel laden air.

With both taking out the silencer (ISR Mod) or in my case the Airaid Jr Kit along with a better Air Filter plus Changed out my stock muffler which had a pin hole on top edge to a Borla.
I have noticed a slight bit more pick up while getting onto the highway.
Very noticeable difference in throttle response.
and even a slight increase in MPG, though that is mostly on highway (about 1-2mpg) as my city MPG seems to be about maybe .5 to 1mpg better at best.
Also overall the engine just seems to sound/breath/seat of the pants feel better.

I have a flow master 40 series. It's little noticeable at start up but very quiet at idle. It just gives it something a little extra to let you know it's not stock. Very affordable as well.

Flowmaster ... I belive 40 series is pretty common although I'm not sure which exact series I have.

I highly recommend you install a stock Tundra resonance silencer (used is fine) about 1-2" in line behind the muffler.

I did that and it has worked out pretty great. I have a throaty sounding exhaust but NO highway drone. :usa2:

Don't you have headers? Not mentioning that when talking exhaust tones and overall sound could be misleading to those that do not.

I had a coupon $50 at advanced auto so I ordered a set of NGK's and the 18" Magnaflow for $75. Is this a simple unclamp/clamp or will I need to cut the pipe?

Small set back....

The parts guy from Canadian Tire called, my muffler is in... but he can't get Stainless tubing for me, and only has galvanized steel...

He did however, refer me to a custom shop 45mins away, which can help me with the install... Guess I'm not getting that installed tomorrow... :/

Alright, so that shop is closed!!

I've decided to buy some pieces from Magnaflow, and just do it myself. Now... anybody tell me what the stock diameter of the tail pipe is, and the long pipe to the cat??

Just an update... I ended up ordering some piping, flanges, and muffler itself from my local Canadian Tire. I tried buying it from Magnaflow, but I had to be a dealer???

As a result, the parts guy, ordered it through Keystone, who ordered it from Magnaflow, and it's gonna be several weeks before it makes it all the way up here...

As soon as I get the parts, and have it all installed, I'll post pics in my build thread!

I just had a new 20" Bullet muffler installed, Did not need the pipe's because they are already stainless and in great shape. It gave it a real nice growl.
