HELP!! Need to hook up 06 tails on my 03

HELP!! I just got my 06 tails. The center connector is different than the one on the original tail light. Do I need some kind of adapter to make these work? Im dying to get these things hooked up, they look awesome !!

I think i just figured it out, I need to take out the plastic center piece, and thats what the plug goes into from the new light, and then plug orignal harness in.

Guess I was just in too much of a hurry to get them installed !!

That didnt work. the plug on the 06 lights only has 3 metal prongs, while the plug on 03 OEM harness has a place for 4 contacts? I thought these things were plug and play?

Im confused?

Take the oem bulb out and insert the 06 connector where the bulb used to be.

I would speculate that the taillights and brake lights run through one wire on the '06 lights. By varying the voltage they vary the intensity of the LED's output. Your '03 needed two wires to accomplish tailight/brakelight action. I don't know that it'll be an easy, straight plug-n-play. It can be done but it may require some adaptation.

I dont know what you guys did but these lights are NOT plug and play for an 03.

This is one of the most popular mods for a 4th Gen. 168 view and only handful of responses.

This is why we need a separate 4th Gen section.

Finally got them to work. A word of advice, if you have an 03, the 06 tails are NOT plug and play. You will need to "shave" a small piece of plastic fromt the 06 connector to make it fit into the OEM connector. They do look awesome!
