Help!!! Rear hatch won't open.

Took a crowbar to it and it still wont open dented my tailgate all to f**k dont what to do at this point I can't see what the dealer will do differently except for maybe taking the bumper off bit that wouldnt help any well I can't see it doing anything anyway It might be my only option left [emoji22]

Yep I feel so screwed rn this has been stuck since October 2016 but im going to get it open if it's the last thing ill ever do. Lol.

Similar latch issue

My rear door latch quit working 4-5 months ago. I have tried everything including normalizing the locks, and taking the latch off and cleaning and lubricating.

I have disconnected the battery and reconnected after 10 minutes, went thru the normalizing procedure, then I can get the hatch open as normal either by starting the engine and opening, or just lock and unlock at the drivers door and it works one time only, once the door is shut and locks, it will not reopen unless I disconnect the battery and go through the routine again. Any suggestions? I don't want to purchase anything until I am reasonably sure I know what's causing the problem.

I'd take it to a dealer or independent mechanic and let them deal with it at this point.

From reading your other posts is sound like you have damaged the hatch to the point you will have to replace it at some point anyway, if so I would start with a cutting torch and or sawall until I got to the motor/latch point and cut whatever you have too to get it open, then you can replace the hatch, if you go this route find another hatch to install before the destruction begins!

That's the plan going to take a cutting torch to it once I find a replacement tailgate, only option at this point.

I would just use the torch to cut open the skin of the hatch then switch to a sawall, otherwise you will damage other items that will need to be replaced, the bumper cover, the threashold plastic piece, etc, etc.

Be sure to have a fire extinguisher handy!

My liftgate stopped opening, as well, but in my case, you can't even hear the motor when you push the release switch. Thought it was the switch (hoping it would be the "cheap" fix), so I bought a new one, but when I hooked it up, it still didn't work, so I reinstalled the old one. Unplugged the two plugs from the liftgate ECU, and I was able to open the liftgate twice, then it stopped working again. Does this point to the ECU being bad? Or should I buy a new latch motor and hope that fixes it? I'm going to try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes as a last ditch effort, but if that doesn't work, what should be my next step?? TIA for any advice...

Did you ever get this figured out? Mine is doing the exact same thing....I disconnected the battery and then reconnected after a couple minutes. The hatch then worked for a couple times and then stopped again. You could hear the lock motor when it was working. Now there is no lock motor sound. Must be something to do with the normalization procedure as it will work temporarily? Anyone know what I can to do fix this permanently? Thx

Latch issue

I can't open the rear hatch either.

What options do I have other than replacing the actuator 69110-35090?

For time being, push on the door right above the button while pushing the button. It will release and the door will open. Motor/solenoid is week.

I tried this and it worked so I figured it was just not closing enough when closing.

I put a new (used) rear door on because of a big rust spot. Once I got the door on it would unlock but not unlatch and let me open the door. (unless I pushed on the door like the above). I could hear the motor work. All I did was loosen the 3 bolts that hold the latch on the door side and pulled down on it and re-tightened it

It was a minor misalignment where it wasn't pulling the door closed enough when closing so it was bound up trying to unlatch
