Love it. Doesn't matter who you are or where your from, we all face the same issues. My wife is pretty cool but these days all she thinks about is saving $$$ for retirement. Good thing is the universal man code of supporting a brother.

Was with my wife picking up my AFE CAI at 4 Wheel Parts. Was already paid for but she glanced at the paperwork and started asking questions about the $350. Will Call attendant overheard her questions. When he brought out the AFE he commented, "Good choice. This one will really help you increase gas mileage. I think this is the best one for the money. It will pay for itself in no time".

It was a win-win-win. Even the wife was happy. Her "smart" husband was also helping save $$$ for retirement. Hah, hah!

what a coincidence today..i took my wife for breakfast and coffee and slowly ask if i can buy some black wheels to match her car? she said take back 4runner and get our camry back and you can buy black wheel! end of the story....she also said dont bring it up again. damn she was mean! plan b i gonna try to buy her flowers and fancy purse try it again in couple of month.. :becky:

Explain that you hit a curb and the factory wheel was damaged, because the OE wheels cost so much you got a new set in case it happens again since they will be stronger and cheaper to replace if it happens again. Don't talk specifics on cost until you get her to buy in, by that time she will have already said yes and can't take it back!

No hole in our bank account, I used the secret credit card (paperless billing is great). I only got wheels, not tires.

I am liking the "I painted or plasti-dipped them at work" idea.
I may just go for it and tell the semi-truth though. I'll say $600 and then show her how a 2-3 mpg increase = $546/year and $2729/5 years. Not much to argue there, but again, she's female.

Update !

Day 2...it's been in the driveway and she's driven past it several times now and hasn't said a thing. She's driving it now (yes, I actually allow that to happen). If she's going to notice, it will be now and I will hear about it when she gets back.

I can't stand it.
