Help with an explanation for the wife...

Blame it on vandals "young whipper-snappers done painted our wheels black."
Tell her they are photochromatic wheels (sun baked em black).
Tell her that you just turned them inside out (everyone knows the other side is black).
Blame it on the proximity of that Russian meteor (burned em black).
Tell her that it is the environmentally friendly thing to do: black wheels heat the air around them, making the air less dense --> reducing wheel-atmosphere friction --> reducing carbon emission ---> making bunnies and all kind of other critters happy.

That sounds like a challenge! I will get video.
I honestly don't think there will be an encounter...she drove it last night and went to 5 different stores. That means she had at least 10 opportunities to see the wheels. She hasn't said a thing. Unbelievably, maybe she's not going to notice.

I hope she talks some sense into you, or at least talks you out of it.
Why? It is a company vehicle driven by a manager that is off the 1 year lease. 36k miles, dealer maintained, $37k. I've driven it. It is a hell of a car. I figure I could buy it and resell a year later for as much as I paid (KBB is currently around $48k). Basically, for a short time, I'd get to own a car I would otherwise never own. An ISF wouldn't make sense for me long term, but it could be a fun short term car.
I'm actually really considering selling my 5th gen for a higher mileage 06ish 4th gen simply because I'm only doing 3k miles a year on my 5th gen. Financially speaking, I would pocket ~$8k plus I would be eating less depreciation. I don't love the 4th gen like I do the 5th gen, but as little as I drive it, I don't need to love it. Plus, this gives me more ammo for the FR-S I eventually plan on adding to the fleet. It is basically getting these silly schemes past my wife who doesn't see the point in buying or selling a car unless something major happens (have a kid, car gets totalled, car leaves us stranded frequently).
I'm with you on the IS-F. That is a fun car, a little heavy but still is a blast to drive.
You had to buy the Bronco's coach a purse?
