I'm 6'-3" and would love to have a few more inches of leg room. I'm having a hard time understanding what cutting the gas pedal off would do, and I don't know where the foam is located. I'll take a look at both when I'm driving home tonight.

I drive with the seat all the way back, but wish it would go back further. I added 3/8" of washers under the front of the seat where it's bolted down to the floor which helped a little by raising the front of the seat. 3/8" was all I could add and still maintain full thread contact with the bolts. I had to grind the hole opening in the seat rail (with a rotary tool) a little toward the front due to the angle change, but didn't compromisse any strength. I might take the seat out one of these days to see if I can drill the rivets out and move the seat back on the rails an inch or two. I liked the improvement the washers made enough that I did it on the Cherokee too.

I'm looking for any other suggestions on getting more leg room if anyone has any.

The F150 is the only car I've ever had where the seats go back more than I need.

I didn't change the bolts and I don't know what size you'd need to replace them. Raising it with the washers tilts the seat back since I didn't want to raise the rear, and the hole in the seat rail gets offset from the hole in the floor as it moves up. That's why you'll need to grind the hole longer that the bolt goes through in the seat rail. There was still room to grind the hole longer if you do get longer bolts, but I went as high as I could while maintaing full thread contact with the stock bolts. Going any higher without increasing the bolt length could possibly compromise the holding strength of the bolts in a rear end collision. If you do replace the bolts you need to pay attention to the quality of the bolt for that rear end collision strength because those are the bolts that will keep the seat from breaking backwards if you're hit hard from the rear. The washers I used were 3/8" flat washers from Home Depot. 3/8" is the correct diameter to fit the bolts. Use as many as you need to get the height desired.

I got the idea from an internet search a couple years ago where somebody was selling spacers and bolts to do this on 4Runners. I don't have that link anymore.

Your post about the foam made me realize I've still got the factory carpet floor mats under husky floormats. I might take them both out to see if it makes any difference with leg or foot room.

Has anybody tried to take the black rubber foot thing off the wheel well? I drive with my left foot behind the brake pedal to stretch out a little more and would love to get that thing off there but I don't want to break anything.
