EDIT: As harper mentioned before; this is NOT a good solution for hood flexing as hood flexing will still occur at high speeds. Alternatives can be to use "Dynamat Dynaliner 11103" or "Dynamat hoodliner 11905". Thanks Harper!

Probably not much, especially in the cabin. It also will help protect the paint from heat aging. My goal is to get things as quiet as possible (for the Alpine stereo I will install) and plan to put Dynamat or similar under the liner for maximum affect. Heat protection is a side benifit.

i want to add the dynamat liner, as it's an easy first test for me, since i've never put it down, plus this thing is as loud inside as my old Xterra.

Don't feel too bad, my '93 Explorer, with K&N, air box mod and Borla CAT back is MUCH louder than the stock TE I test drove.

I am sure the dealer is correct when they said that I would experience at least a 10HP gain along with at least 3 mpg increase by installing this hood liner. :lol:

Seriously, did not notice any sound reduction. (But I already have a sound reduction package installed by SE Toyota prior to purchase). It is quite thin, barely 1/8th of an inch. So not sure how much heat protection it will deliver to the painted surface of the hood. And since others have already said it does not "stiffen" the hood from flex, the only reason to get this minor mod is pure aesthetics. I do think it looks better then the bare hood. Yea, I was bored today:frisky:

Yep. fits perfectly.

I added sound deadening under it and the difference is noticeable but not fantastic when compared to stock. Without the sound deadening, there is a little improvement but hardly noticeable.
