How about others? Is your XD or TRS HIDs working well with your car's auto-on feature? Or are you having to shut off, then turn the lights back on to get both to fire?

Negative, just pulled back the fender liners and replaced the fog assemblies.
. : EDIT : . I do not have HID Fogs!

Saker, thanks for the input you provided on your install. I receive my kit today some time. One question I had about your install. Did you go with the 50w ballast? Seems like you did but wasnt sure. I saw that you said TRS mentioned no heat issues. I called them myself asking the same question and they said there should be no issues, but id like to hear it from someone with a similar vehicle. Thanks in advance!

1. Do you need to change the projectors in a 14/15 SR5 4runner when installing a retrofit kit.
2.. Any opiniion s on Kensun products sold on Amazon?
3. Are the Xenondepot phillips bulbs worth the extra $ for reliability reasons?
4. do you upgrade both low andd highbeams? fogs?

Highs/Not with HIDS (reason=they don't come up to full brightness instantly) Fogs/No (reason=focal point in the reflector will be way off, you will be blinding oncoming traffic, LEO's included which will get you a ticket)

It appears that every hid kit for the 2016 headlights require some drilling into the back plastic cover of the headlight. Is this true? I was hoping for some plug and play xenon type hid lights. I was worried that if I did have to drill into the back of the headlight it might not be sealed and get condensation.

I was looking for a chart or table that shows light output with different watt ballasts and cannot find one.
I had assumed that I should get the highest output legal ballasts and a bulb as close to natural white as possible.
what would be the most reliable/long lasting kit out there? Does anyone know? I have heard good things about a couple of different companies in this thread.

Yes, you drill through the removable cover. The seal they provide is pretty stout though, so I wouldn't worry. And it's cheap to replace the covers.

You can't go wrong with 35. From what I've read, it's less heat put off (slighly less light), and longer bulb life.
I have the 4300k Phillips bulbs from xenon depot with the 35W ballasts.
They plenty bright and very white. They're a little blue prior to warm up, then become a nice clean white after a few seconds.

The seal is provided at the bulb to keep out condensation, the grey cover is a dust and water cover (splash mostly), and as [MENTION=88820]The Waco Kid[/MENTION] pointed out, they are inexpensive to replace...... I think 10.00ea.
Some have accessed thru the bottom of the fixture where the OEM wires are routed to attach to the bulbs.
I chose to drill my covers and use the very tight fitting plug that was supplied in my Morimoto kit from TRS.

Attached is a copy of the invoice of an order I placed with Xenon Depot a couple months ago. Hi's, Lows and Fogs all 6000K. The hi's and lows were HID and the fogs were LED. Absolutely amazing quality, no issues whatsoever. Very simple and straight forward installation and if you decide to get a light bar down the road, all of the light temp color will match at 6000K.
