I built my front and rear bumpers, roof rack, ladder and motorcycle carrier all from scratch.

As I sit here studying for my mechanical design exam, I'm tempted to draw that out and figure out the mechanical benefits of your motorcycle carrier with the longer bar.

Hey, just update and pics. The top two straps are need to be two hole type for more strength , that will bee done after paint. Otherwise I'm happy how it turned out. Pre drill and use pan head 1-1/4 metal screws. I checked on my parts truck to make sure I didn't hit wires or such. Homemade is the best

Here are a couple better pics of the "mid" hitch receiver. I welded it in at an angle to hold the weight down and let the rear receiver roll down.







To stiffen everything up and keep the carrier from rocking back and forth with all the weight on it i ran outriggers on each side under the hitch crossmember, then drilled/tapped a bolt hole and used a bolt on each side with a lock washer and nut to tighten up against the crossmember.



Here is a top veiw of where the outriggers run under each side of the hitch mount.

Roofie rack

Not finished, still needs a platform surface. Aluminum c channel strut 1-1/78x13/16 bolted to factory mounting holes. Very front bar is steel uni strut of similar size. Scavenged black plastic runners from a long racked vehecile at salvedge yard. The aim is to have a platform up top able to mount a basket if needed. Also adaptable. Light weight. Not leak. Light rail. Tactical hippie camping spot..... Basically to extend factory rails and reinforce over sunroof to have a rugged, multi purpose, flattish area to hold cargo or sleep. I still have to bolt down the front, get ss hardware and paint, plus find a suitable platform material. I'll get better tie downs for the rear and lights all around......
So far wind noise is low, but if I build a basket for up top I'll have to see. This hobby(lifestyle/obsession) is slightly beyond awesome. This the general idea, minus decking
