Three , the first was a 68 FJ 40 that I that I got from my dad on a dare when I was 12 years old . We lived in the high desert and had a power line access road behind the house that we ran a 2 mile section of 6 days a week . One day dad let me take my bicycle and when we got to " The Hill " ( a quarter mile of very steep rocky and sandy trail ) dad said " make it to the top without stopping and I'll give you a thousand dollars " . Man , I flew to the top barely touching the high points ! My dad was amazed and told me that he didn't have a thousand $ so he gave me a choice , one thousand someday or the Landcruiser now . I took the cruiser but sold it for $1600 when I was 16 for a truck . The second was a 87 FJ 60 that I still miss 11 years after selling . Now I've got a 96 4runner . We also have a 93 pickup for a work truck with 489,000 miles on it . And I drove my mom's 88 4runner a lot !

I've just owned my 2008 and 2014 4runners but I've worked on quite a few when I worked at a 4x4 shop years ago. I always liked the Toyota 4x4's but I was into Jeeps and GM's (Don't hate) back then.

We started out with my dad's '73 FJ55, that took my cherry and since then we have owned a '97 Tacoma Limited with lock rights front & rear, an '85 4runner with Marlin Crawler and lock rights front and rear, an '87 4Runner plain jane, and our latest purchase (earlier this week) '98 4Runner SR5 w/diff lock.
It was great when my wife would wheel the Tacoma and follow me in the '85 4Runner. The guys couldn't believe that a woman was driving that truck everywhere with no problems and making it look easy.

Sold the '90 LC and got the '91 LC because Toyota put a bigger engine in it. Still have the FJ Cruiser and the 4-Runner. FJ has 92k miles on it and the 4-Runner has 28K. FJ has been SAS'd and is on 37's. 4-Runner has been pretty heavily modified as well (no where near what's been done to the FJ though). Use the 4-Runner for light to moderate wheeling and the FJ for the serious stuff. The wife loves giving me grief about how much money I've dumped into the FJ.

'85 4runner - ended up on 42's, built.

'87 4runner - mint Arizona truck, Sunday driver, will never sell.
'92 4runner - chopped top, 3-linked sas with 80-series front axle, 4.3 vortec, th350, dual toyota cases. Got bored and parted it out
'93 Land Cruiser- current wheeler. Built on 40's, but still driven all over the country to wheel. No tow rig required
'97 4runner - current 355k mile daily driver
'15 4runner - wife's car and baby hauler. Has parts accumulating in the garage for a mild build.
