If you wanted to add the TRD Panel Filter the part number is PTR43-00083 and an additional $66.69 after the 10% discount.

There will be miscellaneous items you will need to complete the kit but they can be purchased at any AutoZone.

My TRD CAI upper filter box wasn't staying closed properly. The original box had three or four clips, one on each side/corner. The TRD CAI has two clips, and on one face, nearest the fender, it uses two male/female protrusion. The female side of this is on the upper half of the box. I took a look at it, and the plastic edge had been 'pushed over' such that the male wouldn't engage and seat. A utility blade made quick work of the edge and it now engages properly ensuring dirty air won't leak by the filter. The air intake was clean, so no concerns about excess dirt/oil getting past the reusable filter.

Your TRD intake "kit" should have come with new clamshell clips that replaced the OEM clamshell clips that held the top and bottom halves of your air intake box together.

The new ones that come with the TRD kit should have solved your problem without you having to resort to modifying anything.

Yes, there are two clips built in, and two separate male female attachments nearest the fender. The male female attachments are plastic and developed a ‘burr’...I removed the burr.

Really appreciate all the information in this thread, particularly the individual P/N's. Just received my loose parts from Camel and spent this morning piecing together the missing items before attempting installation.

I wasn't going to use the push plug with silicone and originally planned to use nylon screw/washer/nut and neoprene washer for better seal, but then I found some of these bumpers in my junk drawer and that turned out to be a much better fit.

Great, look what you guys just made me do - I just purchased all the parts through Conicelli. I really like how the K&N air intake sounds on my 2004 V8 4Runner, I'm sure this won't sound anything like it, but every little bit helps.

Received all the parts and did the install. I’m using my stock paper filter for now. It’s pretty quiet but rumbles a bit during acceleration. Not sure if it’ll get louder with a k&n filter or equivalent. Overall, I’m pleased with it.

Has anyone compared the difference between the stock filter and a k&n or equivalent in this intake? Is there more throttle response or sound between the two?

Will the the TRD Intake Air Tube fit the factory intake box to throttle body?

I wanted to replace only the tube to clean up the engine bay as the factory tube has that huge nasty baffling.

Not without purchasing additional parts for the modification. You need to flip the trd tube, cap the maf sensor port with master cylinder gasket from AutoZone with a rubber sealant, purchase a HPS coupler 3.75" - 4.5" 95mm - 114mm 4-Ply Silicone, and purchase the TRD coupler kit for the connection to the throttle body; the supplied clamps can be used for the HPS coupler as well. The vacuum hose fittings to the crank will fit at an angle and you will need a longer extended hose from AutoZone.

The other option is to use dome fence post caps on the removed baffle ports and still utilize the stock air tube

Anyone besides me struggling with the rubber hose between the filter box and pipe connected? It keeps popping off on the pipe side!

If you mean the short or small hoses. I replaced all of them with new silicone.
