We always threw them on the roof. It was more fun to watch the mom's around town look at us with those faces that just sya, "EEEwwww, GROSS!!"
I remember years ago when it was commonplace to transport deer either on the roof or in some other completely exposed area. When I say exposed, I mean to the sun with rising temperatures while transporting the deer any lengthy distance. It was the number one reason for giving venison it's "gamey" taste designation. Simply put, people ate spoiled meat and blamed it on being "gamey" !
