Hunters: How do you hunters transport deer ?

How do you transport deer?

The big ones can sit up front with me, but the smaller ones need to be in a child's seat in the back.

Whats wrong with throwing them in the back? It washes out.

I don't have a picture of my 98 but that's what it looks like in the back of it after this past deer season. 3 deer were put in the back of that thing pulling them out of the woods. Just use some lemon juice and a steam cleaner.

i generally have 2-3 other people in the car with me along with guns and camping gear. we use a cargo carrier on the back with bungees. Don't bother with a tarp as its about a 30 min drive on rural roads from hunting property to processor.

I just took the Utah Hunter Ed course, and a large portion of it had to do with ethics.

Congratulations!! Very excited for you and the hunting community. That is great. I happen to be a Hunters Ed instructor also, and I agree ethics and conservation are vitally critical. Every instructor is a little different in how they address this issue.

I personally emphasize not to be disrespectful of the animal, but if you want to carry it so it can be seen do so. I also emphasize to be proud and be educated on the second longest standing heritage action of America. (First is arguing with authority..LOL) I think not showing others I hunt and the benefits of it eliminates others who may be interested. I know for a fact I have been able to have others become interested in hunting because of seeing that I hunt and the successes of those hunts.

Now to throw a wrench at this...I never have any animal exposed while transporting near any place where I hunt. Why? I don't want anyone to know I killed something in that area. We don't even hang our animal quarters in view when at camp. Nope...we never kill anything...nope never....this is just about getting away from the wives.
