Ive always wondered what the upside of a bracket lift is like the one you have.

Also, why leaf springs? Seems like more chance of trail damage because with those hanging down...:nono:

I could be completely dumb...

The biggest upside of the bracket is the cost compared to a SAS, but essentially it drops the suspension down allowing for a much larger coil (lift) and also allowing a larger flex relative to the size of the coil.

The leafs do hang down, its defiantly a concern in particular on the inside where the bilsteins are welded on. I spent sime time at a sheet metal shop today discussing options for custom made plates for down under and that is basically the one thing I will be unable to cover.

On a plus side my sliders (step for the wife) have arrived, they are all sized up and almost ready to weld on, just waiting for paint to dry. I will get some pics up once I get them on.

I'm more impressed that your Husky isn't 4 miles away the minute (s)he is outside your rig!

Mine has a tendency to run, as did my first one. Although the one I have now is getting older and is a bit, how you say, a little hefty, so I'm pretty sure I could run her down within a 1/2 mile or less.

Anyway, good looking rig and great looking Husky too!

Its been a great 2 weeks workin on the truck, new additions include an ARB compressor and rear locker, ARB front bumper with a Warn 10000 winch. Finished the bumper and winch late last night. Here's a sample of some progress, sorry for the phone pics but I'll try to get some nice mountain pics up soon.



Books and sockets make nice spacers while everything is being tighten'd up



I still have a Uniden CB that I am planning to install this week, not sure where it will go yet. I searched whats behind and below the pop out compartment forward of the cup holders, and everything in the way there could be relocated but below it is the ventilation duct heading aft which cant be moved without a complete rebuild of the ducting

Currently I have my grill and a small trimmied off part of the original bumper (used for the ARB bumper) on cardboard with wet black paint on them.

Plans for the near future are to hide the Warn control box inside the bumper and get some nice 9" lights up on the bumper.

So, I realized I have no pics or write up about the ARB compressor and rear locker I installed, and I still have no picks of the installation, wiring or switch locations, but I will get on it one day. It was all installed about 2 weeks before teh bumper went on. I just picked up another small fuse box that will allow me to tidy things up once I find some time to do so.

As for today... I was meesing around with some new lights that arrived today:


Angel eyes were installed today, KC and ARB fog lights were installed last week.


Rear LED's were also installed tonight

Dont like the head lights and tail lights. Looks like something Pep Boys would sell. Doesn't work with the lines of the runner just looks cheap.

Pep-boys...? must be an American thing, not really sure what that is. Regardless I assure you these were not cheap and as for the lines... they have the same style shape and look as the stock lights with a few extra LED's and angel eyes which have very little effect on the lines of the T4R. But thanks for the douche-bag comment anyhow
