HVAC Cluster LED's Replaced - Middle Still Dark

I replaced the LED's in my HVAC cluster but the middle knob is dark. The OEM bulb went out a few days ago.

I tried multiple LED's there, so I know that's not the problem. What could prevent the LED from lighting? Bad contacts on the board?

Did you already try flipping the LED? The diodes are directional, so if you have them hooked up backwards, they wont light up.
 
I just replaced one of my bulbs (upper left). In the act of shaking the module vigorously to remove it, it must have broke the ultra fine filaments in the bulbs for the center controls as they too went dead. Replaced them with new ones but no luck. So I reinstalled but twisted them into position with a little firmer of an effort and that solved the issue. Looking at the bulbs, they have this unique corkscrewed type fit instead of a spring loaded type fit.

I wasn't aware of that. By flipping, do you mean taking it out, turning it 180 degrees, and reinserting it? That would seem to be my only option.

I got all the others to work properly on the first try - was I that lucky?!

love ur white leds, any links to where you bought them?

I don't mind the small orange arrows! I just have to do the cup holders & shifter next.

Though, what I really want to change is the main cluster - I hear you're the man for that job, yosh!
 
Just need two 74 bulbs for those.

Hit me up when you're ready! It was one of my favorite mods on my tacoma and is my favorite with my 05 4runner...I have an icon stg 1 and camburg BJ arms coming soon, so I can still say it's my favorite mods as I haven't installed those yet!!

I thought I had mentioned this earlier but apparently I didn't - rotating the LED 180 degrees solved my problem. Hope this helps others in the future- I had no idea.

I absolutely will! It might be a few weeks though lol. My whole unit is short staffed so I have been working most nights of the week.
