I made some rear bump stops. what do you think?

Mine came after about two weeks or so.

Just finished installing front and rear this afternoon.

On a side note, my front suspension would not droop low enough to get a deep socket or a short socket with a short extension into the new bump in order to tighten the bolts down. I was creative and got them on, but has anyone else had that issue?
My jack stands were on the frame so I should have had good enough drop but that was not the case...

Did you replace the front or rear factory bump on the LCA? There should be plenty of room to put them on the rear, which is where they are supposed to go.

Ya I bought the set and installed the rears with no issue. That went smooth with no issues.

Then I jacked up the front to put the front set on, and with the front jack stands under the frame, I couldn't get much room.
I watched Timmy's video on YouTube and noticed I only had about half the space he did between his bumps and the contact point for the bumstops, when he installed the fronts.

There was just not much space. I was barely able to get my short socket and ratchet in there! The short socket wasn't able to get the bolt all the way tight so I improvised.

Just realized you were asking about the front control arms. Yes I replaced the back bumpstops on the front LCA's.

The only limiting factors in droop are the front shock and the CV. The coilover is the first limiting factor. If that's removed the CV is the next limiting factor. Did you try removing the lower shock bolt and forcing the LCA down? You shouldn't have to but you got something weird going on and it's most likely the coilover.

Is it the OEM coilover up front or are they aftermarkets?

Thanks for the replies.
I did not remove anything else during the install as I didn't see it necessary from the directions that came with the Bumpstops, or through Timmy's video. Everything is stock suspension currently.

I have just about everything I need though for a complete overhaul/mild lift, soon to be installed.

I was just stumped as to why it wasn't dropping where it should have.

That's your problem - the stock (if they truly are OEM) front shocks are shorter than basically all the aftermarket shocks. Removing the swaybar end link and the lower shock bolt might be necessary.

Ugh got one email. About 2 weeks ago. Sent 3 more and no reply. Ordered on December

I got an e-mail that they are trying to catch up on front diff bushings. I received my bumpstops last week, I got the stock to 2 in lift ones. Hopefully the diff bushings come in the next week or 2

I ordered mine back on November 28, just got them in last week.

(I ordered fronts and the rear 5.25" set as well as the front diff bracket bushings, and they all sat in customs for a week according to the tracking. Northern latitudes Canuckistan)

I think he must have been swamped with orders but is getting them out.
Nice looking product, ships with high grade hardware and loctite, and even a nice Duro Bumps sticker.

Well worth the wait.

Going to wait until spring for installation though, about -35C with the wind chill here.

Curious, on the rears are you all keeping the factory cone bumps inside the springs?

I'm about to install 891s and these bump stops, thus the question. I realize the instructions makes no mention of their removal. With the 891s having a bit more lift than what I'd prefer, I'm contemplating not reusing those conical bumps which seem to add about 1/2"...

Question about the rear 5.25" bump stops.

I am currently running the Daystar Bumps that were part of the SS 1.2 rear lift. I am also running 315/75/16 Cooper STT Pros with 861 coils and Tokico black shocks.

Has anyone swapped out their SS spacer + Daystar rear bumps, (
4Runner (96-02) Super Soft Rear Bump Stops - $163.65 : Sonoran Steel Fabrication LLC, Toyota Truck Parts ) for the DuroBumps 5.25″ bumps?

Would you say that you stuff more with the DuroBumps, or Daystars? I went out on some pretty stout trails this weekend with plenty of transitions to test flex. The good news was that the front clearance tub job for 35s seemed to work fine. The back is another story. As it stands, the Coopers tuck up fine, but seem like they are contacting the front of my rear 4x Innovations bumper, and maybe the adjacent body.

I am not sure how different the two bumps would be in real world comparisons. I'd prefer to cut as little as possible. But, ya gotta do what you gotta do.

Ive swapped out my SS daystars for the durobumps and can say that they are better. because of the durobumps progressive rate they really do a nice job. I don't do a lot of fast stuff but they definitely are nice to flex out when crawling.

Between the two, what one do you think compresses more? I am wondering if the durobumps compress as much as the Daystars. I am possibly looking for a little less compression overall.

I’m running 890s and tried it with the cones first. Same thing as you, I wanted a little less lift so took them out and noticed a much better ride at the bottom of the travel. More progressive stop when bottoming out

@PlasticsGuy I’ve been trying to reach out to you in regards to my order I placed on April 18th (sent an email and message on Facebook). I’m moving with the military pretty soon and I’m concerned if my order doesn’t get shipped soon enough it will get delivered to my address after I’ve already moved. Is there any way possible to give me an estimated ship date? I might need to provide a different shipping address if you don’t think they will be ready to ship in the near future. Thanks.

Just got the fronts and rears friday and had them installed today. (Too hot out for me to do anything sadly).

I think I must be doing something wrong because they have made the ride super rough when I hit any bumps. I am wondering if my lift is too low for them?

What size are you all running with what lift?
