I did a retrofit, it was really easy actually. Esp with the auxiliary fuse panel 2feet away from the switch.
That would be killer. Unless it a pain to use. I tried Google sketch and that crap was hard, but I'm sure its nothing like cad. Let me refine it a bit and then we can see if we need it later. I will probably start it this weekend since we will have good weather. Atleast the bumper portion.

Yea, I retrofitted mine as well. Did a pretty lengthy write-up on it somewhere on here. What did you use for the switch? Glad it all worked out. Looks like you used a blue sea blade fuse box. Probably going to be getting me one of those very soon

I ordered the dpdt switch from lowrange offroad. I also ordered the retrofit kit they have to retrofit the axle housing as well but through a series of trades and buys I got an elocker axle housing and new seats out of a good deal everyone benefited from.
I love bartering.

It is a huge PITA to use, but considering he volunteered he's probably whacky enough that he might enjoy it. That or his SC is causing too much blood to rush to his head.
As far as the bumper, I was scratching my head as to why you wanted three receivers, but made sense shortly after. I like that idea. Option of running your carrier when you need it or have it in the garage when you don't.

lol thats why he should sell it to one of us. And Yeah I figured it was a PITA. I think I can just use my terrible drawings for a reference. I would like to be able to put at least one jerry can on it though but with it not being attached to the bumper permanently I am worried about strength with that much weight. We will see though.

Got a small update. I was tired of my GE (general Elecric) CB not working, so I got a new one. I picked up a cobra compact series at Walmart for like 35 bucks. Installed it in the stock ashtray position and couldn't be happier with it. Also mounted my 48 inch fiberglass antenna on my hood with a custom mount. Works like a dream.
I also started on my rear bumper over the weekend too. I would ahve finished it but my cheap harbor frieght pipe bender really sucks the big one for big bends. So tomorrow I am going to get it bent somewhere who has a real bender. I am really excited on how its going to turn out and overjoyed at the design I have so far. Ill keep you posted.

Got the first part of my bumper done tonight. Ill get some better pictures soon but here are some teasers.
The tire carrier should be pretty easy and only take a day or so. I ordered another rim to match the ones I have now and itll be here either friday or monday. I am still debating on wether or not I want to put some jerry cans on there or not yet. We will see how it looks.

The two extra square tubes are where I am going to attach my rear tire carrier. My plan is to be able to bolt it on when I need it and then take it off when I don't. Some thing like this..
And Blck I actually got my stuff bent by a local fabricator here for only like 40 bucks. The harbor freight bender I bought is almost worthless. I even did the cheater way and packed it with sand. (suppose to keep the pipe from creasing and getting flat spots) The pipe bent fine until I got close to the 90 degree mark. Then it started creasing and eventually split the pipe. I might use it to make my sliders but thats it.

Are the side wings connected to anything other than that single tube coming off the center section? If so, my only suggestion would be to add a brace from the side wing to the frame, or maybe another tube diagonally from the center section to the side wing.
I was wondering about those extra two square sections too. I remembered you mentioning you were going to add a tire carrier but I couldn't see where. That drawing explains it well though.

Fish: Yeah this is the first bumper I've built, I bought my front bumper already built. The side wings are not connected yet, I still have to fab something up for it. Ill probably make it go straight to the frame and make a bracket to bolt it in instead of weld it. And thanks I'm pretty happy with it.

I need to pick up a bolt tomorrow for the pintle and then I need to get my rim I ordered so I can finish the mount that the actual tire sits on. We will see how it turns out.. as it sits right now I have my doubts on this design but ill go with it and see what happens. More pics to come.

Not too shabby for your first go at it! I would be very proud of myself if I were you. Congrats on taking the plunge and doing it yourself. I just took the easy road and bought a CBI.

I have a few actually...
The square tubing I have on the bumper and the square tubing that fits into the tubing on the bumper is super tight. Its the tightest I could find but it still has some play.
I am cutting it real close on deminsions as well. To try and keep the tire as low and close as possible.
And maybe strength I'm not sure yet..
Fish: I am proud of it.. There is no better feeling than when you build something on your own and it turns out good.
