Icon lift do it yourself?

Ummm if it makes you feel better, I couldn't get the third washer in either. I gave up and just put the last outside one on and tightened everything down. Once I got it fastened, the UCA was pretty stiff, so I called it good.

I'm sure that means my wheel will fall off eventually, but it hasn't yet.
The poly bushing will fail or disintegrate without that washer on as the big washer spreads the load across the bushing and distributes the load for and aft. No es Bueno.
If there is a problem with the fit ,like with the bushings being too wide or the washers too thick to get in ,SPC needs to be made aware of the problem.

I just need a baby nap.... So here's an update... Driver side was a nightmare... Took a billion hours... Following the fj write up is helpful but still not that close to a 4runner with KDSS... The icon black and white one piece of paper instructions is useless for a noob.... I am super glad that Harper works 24hours a day like a slave and was able to talk me through some hiccups... Biggest problem was one of the shock spacers was manufactured incorrectly it took me two hours of tryin to push it through before I figured it.... I should have known this!!!! It's the first part of the write-up make sure u have all the parts and check to see if they are made correctly... How does a company not check this before they send it is very disappointing. i am Going to buy a round file I'm the AM to fix the spacer so I can use it on the other side.

It was told the remote res. bracket bolts on to the frame and is easy to install... But looks like i need to drill holes and I'll need to go get a tap set to thread them but the res bracket doesn't lay flat against the wheel well so I might need to create one or bend it... I am sure someone has already figured out how to make this work some how I missed it.

Please look at the UCA where it connects to the knuckle it looks like it is at a weird angle? Ill try to find pics to see it this looks right or maybe once the tire is on and the truck drops it will be in the correct spot... But now I am nervous maybe the tie rod(I think that's the name of it) doesn't move freely and it's bad and stuck at that angel till the weight of the truck breaks it free...

Any help would be appreciated...

Sorry pics not posting or only doing one at a time sorry for all the posts

Did you use all 4 flat washers on each UCA'S? In the pics, it does not look like you used the large washers on the inside of each bushing. That is the hardest part of the UCA install, lining it up with the inside washers on since it is an exact fit.

In light of that, I went to my garage to figure out a way to get that last washer in.

I ended up hammering a flat head screwdriver in between the UCA and the coilover housing to wedge out enough space to get the washer started. Then once I got the washer in, I hammered the washer down until it aligned with the rest of the holes.

I really didn't that it was going to be possible to get that washer in.

Hey gents... when I talked to Harper he said the same thing that I should have 8 large washers for the light racing but actually these are the new SpecRide bushing so they have big washers on the outside and little on the inner....here is the directions... If I am wrong LIE to me cause I just got the second arm in and that sucked. image.jpg

I never got instructions with my UCA's... hence the reason I am just now getting all the parts on.

On the bright side, I'm getting good at taking apart my suspension system.

Huh, weird. My instructions are different than your because they show 4 large washers per side. In addition, my UCA's have the new spec ride bushings. Looks like you did it fine per your instructions, they just came with different washers.

Hey Vegas my suspension is being delivered Tuesday. I'll get you my Dropbox info so you can send me the entire recorded install. Hahaha. On a serious note, I will undoubedtly be on here asking a 1,000 questions in a couple weeks when I start my install... :hatsoff:

I am lost and way over my head... Well I am being dramatic, didn't expect it too take so long. Not even done with front and its day two... But I ran into issues with defective products that slowed me down...when you don't have a solid shop/garage with good selection of tools when you run into an issue what would take you 2 mins with the right tool turns into hours. God speed on your instal

My instructions. Revised 3/2012

I may think about trading this truck in before I ever have to replace those evil washers and pull those uca bolts again!

Wow! Yea I wil be absolutely sure then to check and double check my parts to not only be certain they are all there, but also manufactured correctly. :redbrick:

Hang in there Vegas! I have mad respect for people who try to tackle these sort of things. I don't have the time to try something like this, plus I am a pu*** :) Good luck man! :thumb3:
