I'm Sorry Canada, North Dakota and All Cold Places

I'm sorry I make fun of your cold weather. I take back all snide comments about living there in the cold. Will you forgive me and TAKE BACK THESE BELOW ZERO TEMPERATURES????? GEEZ!!!! It was -25 degrees F (-32 degrees C for my Canadian friends who I love with all my heart) last night. It was this cold 19 years ago here. Please forgive me [MENTION=1032]NoDak[/MENTION] and [MENTION=66300]Intruder[/MENTION]. I will try to be more respectful of your homes, I promise.

Don't get me wrong, I like cool temps. I even like the mountains of snow we get every year but, when I walk outside and get stabbed by 1000 knives when I only want to draw a breath and my nose feels like someone hit it with a baseball after snow blowing my driveway then it is time to WARM UP!
I am currently looking for houses located on or near the equator, or at least South Carolina.

Again, I promise I will quit talking crap about my northern friends if you take back these temperatures.

I had fun throwing boiling water up in the air to see it freeze mid air, kept me entertained for a solid 2 minutes. Got to -15 yesterday morning here in Missouri.

Anyone wanna post up any quirks they've noticed while driving in below zero temps?

1) I know I have 1 leaking rear shock but driving to work this morning was like I had no shocks at all. Super stiff.
2) Had barely any power steering assistance
3) Electronic displays were very laggy to refresh (When going from Park to Drive, the indicator on the gauges still displayed "P" for a few seconds before displaying "D".

All of these things I would consider "normal" and understandable considering the severe drop in temp, just curious to see what others have noticed.

Shoveled my driveway in -18F yesterday in Indiana. I have man-high piles of snow along both sides of my driveway.. CRAZY! It "warmed" up to -8 at night. go figure!

Not sure what you guys are talking about with the cold temps up here though. I washed the truck yesterday (+1C) and it's currently only -8C. I considered wearing shorts and sandals but there's a chance we might get some flurries this morning. Forecast for the rest of the week is positively balmy.

It was -21 here yesterday morning, and I had all of the above except the leaky shock, when I got to my office, I shut the truck off, got out and touched the lock sensor on the door handle, it beeped and locked the doors and the lights stayed on, which they should for 30 seconds when set on auto. An hour later an office mate came in and told me that my lights were on, I went out and started the truck, shut it off, locked it with the sensor again, and the lights shut down in 30 seconds. I have no idea why the lights did not go off automatically or if it was related to the cold temps.

Not all of Canada was cold yesterday. It was 12C/54F in Halifax, Nova Scotia. What's even more interesting is that it was 10C/50F in Orlando, Florida. Crazy!

The Honorable Minister of Cold-ass Temperatures, Jean Poutine, is currently skiiing in Nunavut, and then off to club baby seals, sorry.

However, his namesake dish, Poutine, is completely temperature-appropriate now. And all the grease on your face from it makes the cold hurt less.

Yup. It's cold here too; 4' this morning with crazy negative windchill.

I love cold weather too, so this morning I packed up and headed to Susquehanna St Park for a hike. Yeah.

Got about 10 minutes in and ran back to the 4Runner with my tail between my legs. Pu$$y. ANY exposed skin hurts!:faint:

I came back home and resumed my welding practice.
