ARB Bumper

Did you find an ARB bumper yet?

An ARB painted silver would look great on your 4Runner.

installed my new Pioneer AVH-X4600BT double-din DVD/CD stereo

sounds great! but my bypass that i made for the dvd player didn't end up working :(...

does anyone have any ideas why it wouldn't?
i used a 12v relay.
BLUE REMOTE WIRE --- 85 ON RELAY
GREEN HANDBRAKE WIRE -- 30 ON RELAY
BLACK GROUND WIRE -- 86 ON RELAY ALSO ATTACHED TO 87..

...

used a wiring harness that i got from ebay for toyota's so i didn't have to splice any factory wiring.

>>>it worked out ok. I'm not thrilled with it. i put it on too heavy. looks decent, i'd say a 5 out of 10. so nothing special but it was cheap.

>>> i haven't yet mostly because of funds. but i had a black taco ARB on my last 4runner and i like the power coated black a lot.

Most of the new double dins aren't constant ground detection, all you need is a momentary ground switch. BUTTTT I can't say for sure on that deck, most either need a ground constant to simulate parking brake switch continuity or I had a double din before that needed only a momentary ground.

minuscule update

bought a pair of rear flares/mud flaps to practice on, so i don't mess up my originals on the car already.

i found that scissors starting both sides works best for the curved part, then a utility knife. then i tried to sand any rough edges.

Roof Racks

bought some roof racks from this site to fill the void my car was missing. the owner i bought it from removed the racks...

my ultimate goal is to fab up some mounts for a safari rack (a Rola Roof Rack) for a low profile look that hugs the roof close, line-x the entire thing and keep the rails that touch the runner's top... so 6 cross rails should look sick over the standard 3, but evenly spaced across the roof... not like the picture

.some advice when taking of the roof rail caps... super hard to get back on. to make it super easy i recommend taking the whole roof off, or simply loosening the entire rail to lift it up a bit to fit the cap back on the end...
