Initial Review of S&B Filters Intake (original version) - VIDEO

We tried to wait patiently for S&B Filters to come out with the revised version of this intake (live now on their website), but we got a hell of a deal on a used older version. So, we jumped on it and did a review video for it.

...I don't know what I would gain by "upgrading" to the new version, but we will see what happens next.

I’ve been waiting a year for their “updated” (2019+) version. Ordered this intake for my 19 ORP and realized the bolt holes were off. Got in touch and they said they were gonna redesign. They keep saying the new one will be coming soon but time passes and nothing but more bs. Not impressed with them at all.

I called them, emailed them, messaged them on IG, messaged them on FB... every month. The response was almost always "its coming soon". It was definitely frustrating.

I think the problem lies with the fact they were relying on customer's vehicles for the design process. That being said, the new version looks really good. I just hope they get it back in stock soon for all the people who have waited so long for it to come out.

...even after all that frustration, I am super happy with this intake. I will be doing a follow-up video on it once I have some more time and miles on it.

Great video. I will definitely be following this thread. CAI is the next upgrade I plan to do. I am also curious to see what you decide to do with the mass air flow censor or retune eco etc

Gonna try to run it as is for a few weeks to see what the differences are. Definitely needing to do some kind of retune - especially for our needs.

Hopefully next year we will be able to really step it up with a full regear.

FYI if you're trying to increase mileage I finally installed the Gibson catback exhaust and I definitely noticed at least 1.5 mi per gallon increase for the last thousand miles I've had it on the vehicle.

We've heard good things about that exhaust. Its on our list, but first we need to get this tuned, and we are seriously considering doing a regear (4.56).
