Installed Dice in 05 Limited w/Nav

First of all, sorry I don't have any pics, but they would just be of the disassembly of the dash, right? Also, thanks to http://www.castulucci.com/projects/carpc/oemnaviaccess/ for making the dash tear down so easy. With a 10mm ratchet, I had it completely apart in 15 minutes.

Alright, on to the Dice. I ordered my unit early last week and received it yesterday, so bravo to quick shipping. The unit itself seems sort of cheaply put together, but oh well, it works. The install was a piece of cake, and I ended up mounting the box a bit to the right, behind the little cubby thing under the HVAC controlls. I ran the cable for the iPod under the cupholders and through the open spot next to my downhill assist button. This is just temporary, until I figure out just where I want my iPod to be mounted. (I'm thinking about a custom mount in the flip out part of the lid of the center console. This may require some dremeling, as I would like to be able to close the flip part and keep the iPod in there, almost like a little cubby for it.) Anyways, the unit works great. No more FM modulators for me. And the sound quality is awesome.

Side note: I've had the truck since September 05, and I just now realized the little "inner" glove compartment. I saw it on someone elses thread, and decided to hunt for it while taking the pics. Any other secrets I should know about? Great place to hide valuables, since even someone breaking into my vehicle probably wouldn't know that area is there.

Is there any screen on the changer mode where you can see all the "discs" or albums?

How do you navigate to different artists or albums? I understood that on this unit there was a way to do this without playlists, is this correct?

[I think it involved leaving the iPod at the artists folder while pluggin in??]

How do the steering wheel controls work? What can they control on the iPod?

When you hit the audio button, the display shows the artists/song playing, and when you hit the titles off button, it displays icons for discs 1 through 6. Having the unit on disc 1 lets you go from song to song when you hit the forward or back arrows on either the head unit or steering wheel. Disc 2 allows you to go from playlist to playlist by using the forward/back arrows, Disc 3 is for albums, etc.

is the "disc" and "track" changes everytime you change the song? because mine does not. the "disc" / artist info will stay the same until i turn off & on the engine. i bought mine last christmas, so i guess it's still has bugs. and i can't find the firmware upgrade (if there's any)

^^^^^ Title messed up after i turn the car off and on again, it works again after i change the "Disc". Also, i can't change the track too fast otherwise the title messed up ^^^^^

My tracks are contiuously updated. Lately I've been keeping my actual iPod in the center console, and just hit the audio button to view the song if I'm not familiar with it.
