Installed my OME 881/906, Nothing short of amazing!

Finished installing my OME coils, 881's in front and 906's in the rear, no trim packers needed. This is definitely one of the best mods I have done to the truck, right up there with the Tundra brake upgrade. The ride quality is extremely improved, no question about it. If you are thinking about this upgrade, do it! The height increase is very mild yet ride quality is significantly improved.

Ride height is measured from bottom of limited fender flare to ground W/full tank of gas and 265/65/17 tires

Ride height before

Driver Front 34 3/8"
Passanger Front 34 1/2"
Driver Rear 34"
Passanger Rear 34 1/4"

Ride Height after

Driver Front 35 1/2"
Passanger Front 35 1/2"
Driver Rear 36 3/4"
Passanger Rear 36 3/4"

Also note front spring have been driven for roughly 100 Mi before I installed the rear springs. I know the rear springs will settle some I don't know about the fronts. I will post updated measurements after settling.

Time for some pictures:party:

It does look good. I've been thinking about replacing coils and shocks. Did you change your shocks too? How much did it set you back?

Yes I changed out the shocks too. I used Rancho RX9000's because of the ability to adjust the dampening on the fly, from the cab. Total was around $750 for everything. I don't feel like totaling it up completely but that should be pretty close. I was worried the tires would start to look like donuts but that isn't the case at all.

Yep, I recently installed that spring combo on my 4R and it rides nicely. I am running them with some Bilsteins.

Very nice, Juiceboxer. I'd like to do that with ours but only to improve the ride quality. I don't want to lift it any. I don't like the ride ours has at all. It's like driving an unruly beast. Our 4r has KYB shocks on the stock springs and every time we hit a bump it's like getting slapped in the back of the head.

Maybe you might post a DIY write up?

CJ3Flyr, I'll definitely post an update once I have installed the my ride adjustment thing, I am especially interested to see how that helps with towing as well.

BTO, I didn't want much lift, this was the only way I could find that gives you the ride quality I wanted, with the least amount of lift possible. No one makes an aftermarket non lifting spring, that I could find anyway... I'll try to find the writeup I used to do the rear springs, I didn't take any pictures of me doing the front because I was too busy wrestling the spring onto the shock, then the getting the strut back into the mount.

Kellog, Thanks! no I did not do a diff drop, I really only gained about 2", one of which was the springs sagging, the other inch I consider that as if I were to put 99' coils on it, I've never heard of anyone doing a diff drop with 99' coils. But time will tell what my CV's end up doing...

Hey Juice, looks good. How is the ride with those cab adjustable Ranchos? Those sound pretty trick. To me it looks like there is still front rake without the top plate spacers installed - weird. Also, it seems like you didnt get as much rear lift as I did. Maybe it's just the wheel/tire combo that's throwing me off. Here's what mine looked like after the lift but before 33's:

When I purchased the (almost) exact same lift (I have the top out spacers in front) I was told that it would sit level - it didn't - but I do guess the 906's will settle over time and level out for you. For me, the higher front stance will just keep getting more prominent. Oh well. Again, looks sick man:banana:

I haven't installed the air compressor and controller unit for the adjustment yet, I'm going to try to do that today but we will see... The shocks do ride great though, I have them set at 7 in front and 5 in back, it will be interesting to play around with the dampening while on the road.

Random Side note, I always love pictures of millennium silver with a cloudy/overcast sky...

so it's been a year, and yes I know I am bringing a thread "back to life" but I just have to ask how you are liking your ranchos and the my ride system? I am pretty sure I am going to go with that this next week so I am just curious... is it worth it?
:fishing:

where are those coils from? i looked on wheelers and their 906's look different.

Maybe check Toytec.com, that is where I got mine.

I'm also interested in how they have settled and if you have towed at all. I only have the 906s but will be upgrading the front soon. They have been on since Feb. with about 15,000 miles on them. My passenger side is about 3/4 lower than my driver side and I was wondering if you are seeing this as well? I know the driver side is a bit taller to account for the weight of the driver but I'm not sure how much taller it should be.
