Installed Rear Lights

I finally got around to installing some cheap WalMart driving lights! I used a relay and on/off/on rocker switch so I can have them turned on with the key turned to accessory, on when in reverse, or just off all the time. I used the rear body mounts for my attachment point and you can see they're pretty subtle until turned on. The lights use the 55W H3 bulb so I get plenty of light now

Thanks! My old aftermarket h/u would turn on the antenna whenever the stereo was on regardless of what source was being used. My new one only turns it on when the tuner is used but I kept the switch anyway

Oznium.com and I labeled them with dry transfer letters, then put a coat of clear on top

Brilliant! I like how they really just disappear in daylight. The rocker has BU as a separate push? So they are essentially optional when you are backing up, or on all the time?

If the switch is flipped to Back Up, then the lights will turn on automatically only while in reverse. If the switch is flipped to On, then the lights come on with the key in the Acc. or On position. Then of course I can just have the lights off altogether. So yeah they are optional for use as reverse lights. It really helps with my tint

I'll definitely get a diagram up for anyone that wants it. I have started it and will probably finish this weekend. I just have some other stuff to wrap up before school starts up again. The diagram should be helpful for a few different projects too because of it's simplicity

theres a reverese wire on the wire bundle at the drivers kick panel you can use that to trigger the lights

ha ha yeah it's a class II hitch, with the cover on it

I got some free time at work to finish the diagram. I tried to explain everything within the diagram. For 2000 the back-up light wire is red w/ a yellow stripe. Don't know for '96-'98. For '01-'02 the ie2 connector and pin # is the same with the wire being white w/ a blue stripe (online source). I chose an accessory source so that the lights cannot turn on without the key turned, but you could always connect that end to a 12V constant so they turn on whenever (like the diagram Elton posted).

Looks good! Thanks for the pics and the diagram, I was actually thinking of doing the same thing this summer, although I may mount them up top if I can find a good way to do so.
