Installed transmission cooler, now get ATF light...

Put in a Hayden 678 this weekend. Then I pulled the drain plug and drained out about 5L of transmission fluid. Replaced the same amount of fluid that came out with some Oreilly brand Dextron III.

Now I'm getting the transmission light. Checked the dipstick, but the damn things so jammed up, it always comes up all red.

Could an overfill be causing it??? I guess I'm asking, what triggers the light?

Which trans light?

ATP - Unengaged “Park” warning light or
AT Oil temp? So you think you may have over filled it? If so, just drain some out the bottom. Overfilling can be worse than underfilling, foams up...

Check the dipstick when the ATF is hot by running the gears from P to L and back, then see what it reads.

Drain it if it was overfilled.

you shouldn't get an AT oil temp light from being overfilled. Sounds like 2 issues. but draining to the proper level is easy enough so start there.

Did you remove the bottom of your radiator from the cooling loop so that the transmission runs straight to hayden cooler and then back to the transmission?

make sure you didn't run the bottom of the radiator lines to the hayden cooler and back
