Installing Shrockworks on my 2014 TE with KDSS

you don't have to remove the skid, you just remove the bolts from the threaded holes on the drivers side. then you'll be able to pull the skid down enough to remove the long bolt from the gas tank strap.

i used a socket to pin the strap against the tank, insert it into the hole right next to the bolt, and apply just enough pressure on a floor jack to pin it into position. that way it won't move at all when you remove the long bolt, and it'll be a cinch to re-install the strap bolt.

And any nuts that are already on the inside of the frame were welded in during manufacturing. You don't have to worry about them falling down into the frame.

I'm having the same issue. I didn't get the Shrockworks sliders though. I purchased the White Knuckle Off Road ones. Passenger side was a breeze. Driver side is driving me insane ;-(

Gotta pay the taxes & get my plates on my 4R first (bought in MT since no dealers would trade with dealer I was working with in Fort Collins). Probably end of Oct (with a ~4 mos lag for production, that'd put install time around early March, warm(er) weather dependent.

Help!

So I got my sliders in and they look great. Just need to install them now. So I am doing the passenger side first. I noticed there is no hole for either of the two holes on passenger side front where it connects to the cross member. Are these optional or do I need to drill them? There is one on the driver's side and the other hole is optional as per the instruction but there is nothing in the instructions that mention the passenger side except that there is not a "threaded hole" and a extra 3/8 bolt and stick nut are provided. Is that assuming there should be a hole there, just not a threaded one? I checked behind it and it doesn't seem like there is enough room to drill a hole and put a bolt through there.

So I got my sliders in and they look great. Just need to install them now. So I am doing the passenger side first. No hole on that side. You'll need to drill one and there should be an access plug close enough to run a stick nut. I still need to do the same for that one.

All done! Not too difficult. Pulling the lines away from the frame was super easy. Just unbolt the two bolts that hold the lines in place and rails go right underneath it! I highly recommend making sure your gas tank is empty. I had half a tank and was like, "eh" and paid the price for it. It made it a lot harder to bolt the strap back in place. Only had to drill one hole on the front passenger side, did not drill the optional holes. At least not yet. They look great!

I just installed my sliders today, used a lot of your thread as reference so thanks! However, when I unbolted the KDSS lines to slide the slider behind them, they shifted in a way that I can't get the bolt to line back up with the original threaded opening. Did you have a similar problem? I'm considering leaving it as is because of the gusset plate holding everything together

Any chance you could post another / closer picture of the textured powder coat? I'm trying to decide between regular and textured for my new 4runner. If anyone has any input, I'd like to hear it. Thanks
