A member over on Expo did a fairly well written up light shootout with a mixture of LED bars and HIDs. He used an actual lux meter (which measures true light output). He also provides links to the manufactures website of each light.

Are any photographers with a meter in the Vancouver/Portland area? I'd love to do a similar light comparison with locals and their trucks. Maybe if we get enough people interested we could all go in on a meter. I don't know anything about the quality of all the meters available, but they seem to range from $20-$100. Of course there are some high end models in the $250.
