Iphone 4 Bluetooth connection intermittent

I have an Iphone 4 paired with my 2010 Limited non-nav.

It works fine except that it doesn't automatically connect when I get into the T4R. To get the vehicle to recognize the phone (or vice versa) I have to disable the bluetooth on the phone, and then reactivate it. Then it works fine.

This is obviously a bit annoying, can anyone help me sort out whatever phone setting I have wrong?

PS thanks to everyone for posting so many excellent threads with mods and info. This is very cool...

My recommendation would be to delete the connection to your 4Runner from your iphone and go through the setup again. Try a different passcode, too, if you happen to have that iphone connected to another vehicle or bluetooth device. That shouldn't make a difference, but it is worth a try.

My iphone 4 connects perfectly 19 of 20 times. That 20th time, I just have to go into settings > general > bluetooth and click on "car multi-media" and it instantly connects. I've had great luck with mine. The sound quality is excellent and it works beautifully with the steering wheel controls.
