Nice choice on wheels. Here's how they look with some Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx 255/80/17. Haven't really had them in snow, but they've been great in everything else so far.

fwiw: i liked my (265) Duratracs a lot their first winter, but their winter performance seemed to fade pretty fast, in my experience.

Duratrac's siping only goes down something like 50% of tread. Once you pass that in wear, they suck for packed snow/ice.

Thread title had me excited to see FNC or M249.

Yup. I had the same experience with my Duratracs - good the first winter and sucked the second winter. I know I'm going to catch a lot of flack for this, but in my opinion Duratracs are one of the most overrated AT tires out there. I'm not saying they're bad, but the way some people talk about them it's like they're the ultimate off road tire with magical unicorn rainbow powers in the winter. They're just average AT tires that look more aggressive than most.

Dude, that's all that matters.

I've ran a few sets of Duratracs and they are so far, my favorite AT tire. I might try some of the newer tires like Discover Max, but the Goodyears beat the hell out of old school BFG KOs, and the like.

In powder, the MTRs absolutely kill it at 6psi and I love, love, love them. Not so much at 38psi on ice covered snow pack as my wife is *****ing at me about spinning 450 degrees through every 90 degree turn. Only 1 place in my area that sells Nokians, but I'm planning on getting a set put on my OEM wheels this week.

The Duratracs we're running right now are the best AT tire I've had, in terms of sloppy/icy pavement. But yeah, no unicorn spooge. They're nothing compared to an actual snow tire.
